Oh, good Friday is good.

Went out for a day trip adventure with [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother, her sister and her sister's boyfriend. I was able to get some strawberry spice! A 35$ bag for 20$, because Dori loves me. Seriously, I always get some sort of discount when I go in there. And [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother got a lovely new wooden pipe, since we can't walk into Puff'n'Stuff without walking out with a new pipe. I wanted the giant pink crystal Sailor Moon type bong, but it's a hundred bucks. Someday!

And since it's [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother's last weekend before going to her live-in job, we're camping out in the shed again tonight.

I honestly thought I had more to post about. O.o Well, considering we've been indulging in Tower Time for the last hour or so, I probably did and have now forgotten. Hopefully it wasn't anything terribly important. And if it were, I'll remember in the morning.

Oh! I remembered! I'm going to see Cake in concert! In June! CAKE!

I'd say that last night and this morning pretty much epitomize what I want out of life.

Well, this is of course brushing aside the fact that [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother had her purse stolen last night. :/ Everything in it can be replaced, but it's still a very nerve-wracking and whatnot experience.

But that aside, we watched Ghosthunters and Scare Tactics and I curled up in bed next to her to sleep while she did things on the computer. This morning, I got up, sat up in bed on the computer while she slept next to me. It was a lovely way to fall asleep and to wake up.

We also have so many fics planned now it's not even funny.

Also? If you're a Lost Odyssey fan and a fan of humor, wander on over to [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother's LJ. There's...something of a comic that has begun over there.

Yesterday actually turned out to be a mostly good day, despite having a...less than great morning. Just family stuff, my dad and I going for each other's throats because we need to explode, and we tend to explode at each other. But some valid points were made through the illogical yelling, and I had a lot to think about yesterday. I guess I still do, but at least it's not stuff I have to deal with on my own.

[livejournal.com profile] nijawial went to go and pick up the Daria boxed set pretty much first thing in the morning, while I went grocery shopping. So we ordered pizza and watched Daria all day. We got I think into the middle of the second season. We also ordered pizza and cheesy bread, and I have some leftovers. Plus, I got a fic done, reformatted a few fics for posting here, at least organized a folder of caps for [livejournal.com profile] trialia, chatted with [livejournal.com profile] colortheory and actually managed to get to sleep without too much trouble.

I did wake up in a bit of a Gloom this morning, but [livejournal.com profile] husband_brother mentioned maybe dropping by today, which would be really awesome.

I've already started on chores for today, and I've made a great deal of progress on dishes, plus scrubbed counters and made fresh juice. And I had a scone for breakfast. Fry's can call them 'soft topped breakfast cookies' but they're scones. Cranberry scones. And they're nommy.

So, yesterday as I was hanging out with Danni, we got a call from our convention buddy A! That in itself was pretty awesome, but it ended with A driving up from Phoenix to hang for the weekend! She got in yesterday and evening and it's been absolutely awesome having her!

We had a kind of kicked back night - Danni stayed over a while with the three of us - and watched standup and ordered pizza. I stayed up until a little after nine, which is actually pretty late for me, and managed to sleep in until 8! I'm having a hell of a time waking up, but that's mainly because of monthly exhaustion issues. But A and [livejournal.com profile] nijawial are going to pick up Dennys and we're going to spend the day with video games. A has never experienced Beyond Good and Evil! And I have promised to write more Hub/Jade stuff with a re-play, so... :D

Also, Danni's coming back over sometime today. I need to make a run to the store when I'm feeling better so I can make her the Portal cake. Also, I need to dig up my little black Lolita skirt. And my black knee high socks. And clean my cosplay glasses....

Which brings me to upcoming cosplay: I need to hit up some thrift stores and see if I can find some more pieces for my semi-Steampunk cosplay thing. Not that anyone will be able to tell I'm cosplaying, but I don't care. It's a cool outfit on its own, even now, and will be even more cool once I've pimped it out. I should be able to between now and PCC. And I'm redoing Haruka, and Danni's lending me her Miroku cosplay. I like cosplays with staffs!

I should get some dishes done soon. Clean dishes are good.

Thank you to everybody for the awesome birthday wishes! :D

Camping was wonderful! It was relatively low key, as this was more a romantic getaway than anything else, but we got one damn good hike in and a few smaller ones. Mostly we just hung around the campsite, talking and being silly and enjoying our very comfortable tent.

And spontaneously LARPing.

No, really. Freeform, spontaneous LARPing. (Live Action Role Play, for those who may not have heard the term before.)

I used to LARP a lot. And honestly, what I did (and we do) isn't even really LARPing, it's just that sounds so much better then 'playing pretend'. No system, no rules, just whatever we feel like.

We ended up doing this from afternoon Saturday until...well, we don't really know when we finally passed out but it was probably between midnight and three. Man, I haven't done that in years. When we first started, I didn't even think about it. All of a sudden, Danni's calling me by a character name and the crazy loud family across the way with a dozen kids and hardly any parental supervision were...you know, I don't think we even decided what they were. Just some sort of unknown threat and there was an epic battle outside and we were hiding in the tent.

By the time we fell asleep...well, we'd broken like three worlds and plunged everyone into chaos. Good times, good times. And she realized that the way to get me back into this without feeling self conscious or awkward was to just start with no warning or preamble.

We got in mid-afternoon yesterday, and I kind of crashed. I wrote a fuckton in bed, and then had pizza and watched Zombieland with [livejournal.com profile] nijawial. Good movie! I was honestly impressed with it. I see what people mean about the gore in the beginning, but where this was a very dark comedy, I didn't mind very much or consider it entirely unnecessary. It was a pretty good set up to get us introduced to the main character, honestly, and set up exactly what the world is like after the zombie apocalypse.

I randomly feel like I seriously need to write some HBC fic today. I've been neglecting Valyn terribly, and at this point he's nothing but a shiny ball of angry jealousy. Silly Valyn, you haven't been replaced. You'll never be replaced! I just keep adding to my ever-growing stable of pretty, blond, young noble heir-types with emotional problems, daddy issues and an inability to deal with women normally.

...that is such an insanely specific type. O.o
said_scarlett: (Brock Fuck This)
I swear, I'm going to have to write drunken bestiality just to purge this!

Backstory: I started writing a fic. I still owe my girlfriend Brock/21 porn, but this idea just wouldn't leave me alone. I'm a good ways into it - slow going because it's new characters - and I know what I want to title it. I want to title it 'Dirty Deeds'. It works on a couple of levels, for the two characters involved. There's the obvious, since party A is a wealthy, influential dude and party B is, canonically, the dude who does his dirty work. But there's also the semi-pun due to the line 'for a fee I'm happy to be your backdoor man'. Because that's a long standing fanon idea about these two. (Paying for sex, among everything else, I mean. And by 'long standing fanon idea' I mean 'me, Nija and Sasuke think so, because Cheeseman is master of Bad Touch'. :D)

But...I know damn well that myself and the two other people* who'd be reading this will not automatically fill in 'Done Dirt Cheap', but rather 'Done With Sheep'. (Even though originally it was a goat. Sheep are funnier anyway.)

Also, I still want that 'You're my only friend, Mr. Sheep!' picture.

And yes, this update is completely random and pointless, other than the fact I'm hoping I can now finish my super porny, Romanesque man-sex fic.

*Not posting it or anything because a) like no-one on m Flist is into the fandom and b) I'm not actually done with the canon, and I hate posting things when I'm not 100% solid on canon.

Wow, today's been a good day!

Went grocery shopping, got some veggies and fruit and crap - since my recent health issues are pretty much purely due to me failing epically at eating anything other than like...pasta and cake. Then I had an Issue with some music transfer stuffs, and Boy Wonder (formerly referred to as Sasuke) came by with our kotatsu table!

But of course we first needed to rearrange the living room. Which looks awesome now, and we have been hanging out around the table since we got it set up. It's perfect for reading, eating, playing video games, writing, crafting....pretty much everything.

Also made a run to the Dollar Store, and ended up rearranging the shed, too, since we ended up with a spare table out there. It looks like a living room now. Couch, coffee table, shelves, carpet, toys.... ;) (We have a magnet fishing toy and some papercraft figures.)

Then it was Video Game Time. Boy Wonder was quite curious to get a look at this game I've been going nuts over, so....I booted up a new game to show her. :D We sadly did not get to the 'don't date rape the queen' part, but there's not much further to go. [livejournal.com profile] nijawial gave her Psychonauts afterwards, and...we're still watching her play. :D Later, after the Green Fairy drops by, we're going to introduce her to Okami. :D

I made a new fictional friend on Twitter. I've expanded my list of fictional people to follow to the Venture Bros cast, and 21 is hilarious. And very friendly!

I feel out of touch with the world of the media, but it's okay.

I caught a thing on the upcoming music awards, and didn't recognize a single person up for an award. But they mostly looked rather frightening.

People keep asking me if I'm for Conan or Leno, and I'm still not entirely sure why I have to choose either of them. I did a Spanish assignment on Conan once. I'm guessing there's some sort of feud?

I'm kind of hungry. I think I'll fix a quick bite to eat and then maybe take a bath.

Hello LJ land!

I've been sick, which is nothing new. Not entirely sure what it was. Monday I started getting bad migraines, and by Wednesday my stomach was upset and I was feverish and achey. I feel better today, so....

Uh, I really haven't been doing much since I last posted. I'm level grinding in LO, so not much more has happened there - and I'll be honest, I've been hesitating playing further for fear of crushing disappointment - and I've been sick so I haven't been doing much. I did go to hang with some friends, but a migraine interrupted so I cut plans short.

Oh! LJ did finally email me all my notifications crap, INCLUDING CHRISTMAS CRAP! THANK YOU, FLIST! *hugs*

Speaking of...I'm still seriously considering changing my LJ name. It was a silly little thing I picked out like a decade ago, and it's just not me anymore. Plus, um, I'm kind of getting sick of people I don't know who read some fic I wrote like ten years ago under this name and come here and PM me and ask for more or whatever.

Plus, at this point, 'cool' spellings of common names just strike me as silly. I'm tired of Feylene. I am just plain Faye.

The only problem is, I shouldn't be picking an LJ name right now. (At least [livejournal.com profile] acrossthesky is already taken, because if not....) Of course, [livejournal.com profile] crossthesky isn't taken....

I have a problem. And now I have this image of [livejournal.com profile] nijawial and Sasuke staging some sort of intervention. Or just backing me into a corner and spraying me in the face with water and yelling 'No! Bad Faye!'.

OH! That reminds me! I've also been playing The Sims. Now that I've transferred the important things from Walter to Tolten, Walter was cleared off and defragged and now he's very happy running my games and my graphic programs.

I'll have to post some Sims pics later, since I'm on Tolten, but holy crap. Each time I make a new household, I comment that these are/this is the funniest Sim/s I've had. And once more, we've been beaten. How?

Naked. Guitar.

Oh hallo, LJ!

You know, people on the internet are way too quick to freak out about how random strangers may or may not be raising their children.

This comes from me catching up on It Made My Day. I haven't been online for more than a few minutes since like...last week. So today as I was getting caught up on things, I checked all my daily sites. One of my favorites is 'It Made My Day'. Little moments of win! posted by people all over. And while some of them are petty and cruel - 'hur hur, that bitch I went to HS with looks like a man now, hur hur!' - a lot of them are just plain awesome and I enjoy that. One of the things posted was the story of a little boy who, when asked about the first rule of crossing the street, responded 'don't talk about fight club!'.

To me, this is hilarious and adorable. But apparently to lots of random people, this is a clear sign of terrible parenting. Because of course a small child knowing an insanely popular quote from a very, very well known movie means that his parents regularly show him a steady diet of twisted R rated films.

I knew that the first rule of Fight Club was no talking about Fight Club for years before I ever actually saw the movie. I can't count how many times I heard it - either in direct conversation or just overhearing someone. And it's still said with crazy frequency, as though the first rule of Fight Club, like the description of Moss Eisley as a more wretched hive of scum and villainy, has just sunk into our collective subconscious. That, and 'I am Jack's ___________'. Though I know I at least don't do that out loud, just inside my head.

The world really does need to calm the hell down sometimes.

Anyway! Not much happening this week. Did some thrift storing with [livejournal.com profile] wirdogal and [livejournal.com profile] nijawial, been finally watching my VB DVDs with commentary, and hanging out with my sister. Also cleaning and decorating for Christmas! And [livejournal.com profile] wirdogal and I are slowly transforming the shed from 'basement smoke place' to 'mystical hut of magic and awesome'. We really need to get some pictures of our latest additions... Mainly an old school Batman comics bedspread for a door and a beautiful dream catcher blanket hung behind the couch.

You know, the thing I miss most about a paid LJ is not the icons, or the customability...it's being able to un-collapse comment threads. The Venture Bros kink meme has reached close to 70 comments and it's a pain having to open a new link to read comment threads.

That being said: The Venture Bros kink meme has reached nearly 70 comments! It apparently picked up once season 4 started. Not surprising. I've actually been filling some requests! I started one a few hours ago, and it's now four pages long. Apparently my brain had a nice rest.

I'm just sad there isn't more Hank/Dermott. I love this pairing. For Christmas, I hope Fandom Santa provides a glut of fic and art. Or just...more than the two fics and handful of sketches that exist. Of course, I also want a glut of Bert/Al stuff. Apparently I've gone back to that epic love of dumb teenage boy slash. Best friend slash, specifically.

I really wasn't planning on getting involved in any fandoms again, but damnit, Venture Bros is too awesome and speaks to me too greatly to not get bunnied.

It's raining today. I think I shall write porn, play Lost Odyssey, and read more Under the Dome. And possibly take a bath.

So, since it's Sunday...

Who's been watching the new season of Venture Bros? And who else thinks it's the best freaking season ever? And who else is developing a huge crush on attempting-to-be-a-bad-ass!Hank? Seriously, though, I'm head over heels in love with the new season. They've really hit their storytelling groove, and character development is running rampant. Gah, the boys! Gah, Srg. Hatred! Gah, Hunter!

Speaking of, we met a Dr. Venture cosplayer at Sabo. :D

Yesterday we ran errands - I got the box set of Tactics, yay! - and briefly stopped by a Retro Nintendo game tournament that Sasuke was in. Then we watched some anime, Sasuke and I hit the shed, and we devoured this anime called Nabari, which we found at Hastings for like two dollars. I don't know if it's actually a yaoi or not, but it should be! Long live the epic love saga of Midget and Hat Guy!

I'm also ridiculously excited about the season three premiere of Metalocalypse tonight. Half hour episodes! The fate of Charles! And of course, Titan Maxium to kick things off.

Yeah, I watch a lot of Adult Swim these days. And a lot of Cartoon Network. They've started showing older cartoons again, lots of Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny. We're watching Scooby Doo right now. :D

And the steamed buns came out delicious. :D
said_scarlett: (Ayumi want)
And I've made my big friends cut! If there was a mistake and I cut you by accident, please speak up! I just defriended dead journals and journals that defriended me. But I'll be honest, there were a lot of journals that defriended me, so if I lost track of what I was clicking...sorry! :( No one who asked to stay was cut! And thank you very much to those who still want to stick around.

It's been a week since Sabo-con! Despite the hotel (Mesa Hilton) being full of idiots and having a room snafu, it was a nice weekend. I did my Eileen Galvin cosplay for the last time on Halloween. I love it, but the makeup is too extensive and too difficult for me to manage it any longer. I went to a few good panels, got the autograph I wanted (and thensome!) and bought some nice stuff. A few doujinshi, a Trinity Blood keychain, some candy, some art...nothing big. I did grab some classic anime, and the first DVD of Mythical Detective Loki, though. We've all been enjoying Tactics over here so much, I figured why not.

We're already planning for Con-Ichiwa in March. Go go group cosplay!

Other things that have happened to me...I went camping last month, which was an amazing experience. I went with my hippie friends to the Verde Valley natural hot springs. The springs are a mile away from camp, across a river that needs be forded. It was an adventure!

I watched a lot of horror movies through October. Good and bad, American, Asian and European. Still didn't hit 100 in 31 days, but it's the journey that's fun!

Re-decorated the shed, made new friends, applied for a fuckton of jobs, baked, despaired when our oven broke (it's better now!) and pretty much I've just been living my life.

Now I need to redo my icons - which shouldn't take much, since I only get 15 now - and my LJ and look into renaming tokens. :D
said_scarlett: (Dont Fear)
And in other news!

Had a kind of quiet Sunday yesterday. We watched the mini-series version of the Shining, which took pretty much all evening and well into the night. And finished it up just in time to catch Into The Wild Green Yonder - which I assume will be the last 'movie' before the new episodes run.

I really do adore this version of The Shining. Not just because it was scripted by King himself, but the casting was so well done. Steven Weber and Rebecca De Mornay are just awesome actors, and they played so well off of each other. And Weber really portrayed Jack Torrence's struggle beautifully.

Speaking of Stephen King...I've discovered that I do have to get each individual comic issue of The Dark Tower. Why? Because the written stories and legends from the back of each issue aren't included in the trades. I almost ended up buying totally out of order, just to get the giant essay on The Role of Women in In-World in the back of one of the Treachery issues. But I was good and picked up the first issue of The Long Road Home. Is it just me, or do the artists take any excuse they can get to show Roland shirtless?

I also got my hands on kava tea, finally. Oh man, that stuff is amazing. I slept so well last night, and my muscles remained relaxed and loose even into this morning. It does taste rather blegh, and the numbing effects on the throat and mouth are odd, but it's definitely beneficial as a natural muscle relaxant and sleep aide.

We has thunderstorms today! So hopefully we'll have them while we watch The Unborn. Yeah, we rented it. Hey, the graphics and effects look shiny and it's got Gary Oldman in it. At the very least, it'll have some inspirational visuals. Though we could only get the un-rated version. I don't know if this means more boobies or more blood. Or possibly both! We shall see.
said_scarlett: (blossoms)
My monthlies are really, really weird this time around. O.o

Usually I don't get weirdly emotional on my period. I get more emotional, but not like this. I just feel sad and miserable and lonely and blah, and for no good reason other than my hormones are going whacky. Which is terribly unpleasant after so much work to get them under control and somewhere in the vicinity of normal.

At least yesterday was a pretty good day! I got progress made on the dining area, some more work done on the porch, picked up the mini series version of The Shining super cheap, and vegged on the couch watching an SVU marathon.

Oh, and my Bert app was accepted for Chaos! I am so, so looking forward to playing him. He's already got some plot stuff set up, and I haven't even intro-ed him yet! And now I get to look up all kinds of whacky superstitions, which is a lot of fun.

In other news: there has been so much love on my Flist today! It makes me really happy. Sharing love and positivity and good things is so much better for everyone than the opposite. When we share these things with others, it radiates back in us, and makes the world just a little bit better.

Got caught in a sudden summer hail storm on the way from grocery shopping! Everything's dark and damp out now, but it's a very nice change.

Fully restocked on groceries! Huzzah! And now I'm gearing up to either organize the kitchen cupboards or start tackling the living room overhaul. Whichever I'm inspired for first, we'll see what happens. :D

I hate grinding for gold in Secret of Mana. Wryyyyy must your armor be so expensive, Neko, wrrrryyyy?

I am so tempted to take on the final dungeon in my freaking Gold City armor. Probably a bad idea...and probably why I never beat games like these. ;)

I'll get to tags and whatnot once my brain is more awake. It still thinks it should be asleep. Silly brain!

ETA: I can't believe I forgot this...

So, I generally don't use celebrities/actors for RP PBs. There's just a weird disconnect for me, where I have trouble accepting an actor as a character when I know them as an actor.

But when an actor looks just like a character, to the point where I spent the night wondering if this was on purpose - IE, character design was influence - then there's just no other option.

No, seriously. I am half-convinced that Joseph Gorden Levitt inspired Marvel's design for Cuthbert. See for yourselves:

Photobucket = Photobucket

That's almost creepy.

Hallo LJ! It's been a few days! Whoops!

I haven't been doing anything terribly exciting or interesting lately. I've been RPing and writing, and marathoning Metalocalypse with [livejournal.com profile] nijawial in preparation of the third season. Also, um, I've been playing Sims.

Yeah, turns out I can has Sims 2 on Randall. I'm working on my custom Mid-World neighborhood. So far we have Flagg's Tower and Castle Gilead. Oh, and a tavern. Flagg has a kitty. He loves his kitty.

Good Kitty Kitty )

He also apparently hates teddy bears.

Today I pretty much lazed away my Monday, but around seven or so I got myself up off of my bum and got to chores. All the dishes are done, and once I'm done with this I'll be doing laundry. I have Clanaad on in the background, a nummy dinner of salad with dried cranberries and orange slices, and hopefully I can get to sleep easily tonight.

Today is a day for Getting On Top of Things.

Everything, really. I'm well aware I've recently been slacking on everything, everywhere. My health and RL things just drained me, even though I swore I wasn't going to let that happen. But now I'm back in control, and already well on my way to getting back into the groove everywhere.

I did dishes. I ate. I posted all my RP characters at both my games. I have an original story halfway written. Hell, I even applied to a new RP. I just need a little more variety, and I've been dying to play Eddie. But he's not a right fit for [livejournal.com profile] damned, and with Phantom Limb I'm at my cap in CU. So when [livejournal.com profile] orenda33 posted about [livejournal.com profile] rapturereborn, I checked it out. And am now awaiting to hear back, so fingers crossed!

I'm going to get out the trash, clean the critter cages, clean the bathroom, hopefully finish the rough of Girl Underground, RP, maybe even play a little Okami later....

Whatever. I'm kicking my own ass into gear, and it's high time I did it. I might even be back on AIM before much longer....

I got my hair done this morning! My mother showed up and asked if I wanted to, so off I went! I chopped it all off. Instead of being a curly, waving mass of multi-colored insanity down below the middle of my back, it's a fluffy blond cloud of curls around my head. And is chin-length. I'm terribly happy with it!

I've been writing like crazy lately. This is good!

And...I can't figure out who I want for visitor shift in [livejournal.com profile] damned. I don't think Valyn can take another visit from daddy. I'm...considering Eileen, and having her get a visit from Henry. Because clearly she's not freaked out enough, what with going through the zombie apocalypse and getting felt up by Walter. Not necessarily in that order.

I...have an almost complete Eddie application for a friend's new game. I didn't mean to write the app, but I brushed up on some canon stuff last night and this morning it just...kind of wrote itself. O.o

It's gray and icky out today, and we had an insane thunder storm last night/this morning. I don't know when, it woke me up. We're supposed to get more rain and whatnot later today.

Well, this is a horribly random and disjointed entry! I ought to get myself some food....
said_scarlett: (memory)
I didn't realize I'd written over 200 FMA fics.

Sometimes I think about counting up all my fics, everywhere, and then I decide I probably don't want to know the actual number. I think that's for the best. :D

It's cloudy and wet and icky today, so I'm not exactly up to snuff. I thought monsoon season was over! Also not sleeping well again, just to warn everyone. I got a few hours last night, but I'm back to just a few hours a night.

I'm even considering breaking my 'no caffeine' vow - I did just finish my period, so one coffee drink shouldn't do any damage - just because I'm feeling so groggy. I need to work on my story, I need to hit my tags, I need to clean the critter cages....

Anyway, this is a fascinating article I'd like to share regarding hemp importing vs cultivating in the US:

If You Drive a BMW, You Support the Hemp Industry...

Seriously, the uses for hemp are numerable. And yet, because hemp is of the cannabis family - despite not having any of the mind altering drug qualities of pot - it's illegal to farm in this country. Hemp is grouped with mescaline and heroin. Hemp! Not even pot, but hemp! The law makes no distinction between the two! But...the US government imports hemp. And allows hemp products to be sold in stores. So why can't American farmers grow it?

At least the laws are being re-evaluated, and now two whole farmers can grow hemp. Wow, two whole farmers!

*headdesks*

I have made great leaps of progress in getting the new compy set up! I've got GIMP, Poddox, and bittorent downloaded. It's kind of sad that I keep bittorent around for one thing and one thing only: the hope that someday I find a working torrent of the 'Blister Soul' album.

And if you're frowning and grumbling about downloading music...if I could buy the CD, I would. It's been out of print since the late 90s. I've actually bought this CD three times, and three times it has been stolen from me. And while Itunes - of all things! - has it, I have no way to buy songs from Itunes. Which is just an epic taunt in my direction, really. (And after admitting how desperately I want this CD, we can add 'Christian Grunge' to the list of music I like...)

I also have my desktop set up just the way I like it.

Shiny New Desktop! )

All hail The Walking Dude, the Good Man, the Dark Man, The Evil of Many Names...

I've also been writing, as I mentioned in my last entry. Later today I'm going to see about getting AIM installed. Right now, however, I'm overcome with a wave of exhaustion. This 'giving up caffeine completely' thing is hard...
