So, I did this for attilatehbun, and here are the icons she picked:


Oh man, I love this icon. And like many icons, it has a weird and kind of convoluted story behind it. It started with the song 'Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap', due to the line 'for a small fee, I'm happy to be, your backdoor man'. Which, in the context of a slash fic I wrote, took on a whole new meaning. Somehow, the parody song 'Dirty Deeds, Done With Sheep' and an offhand comment about a fictional character and a goat combined to result in this long-running gag involving Jansen Friedh from Lost Odyssey and sheep-bothering. And gave birth to the fic 'Three Bags Full'. And I desperately needed an icon. So nijawial made me this one. :D


I like the artist's work, and just particularly like the emotions and atmosphere conveyed by this particular cropping of this picture. It's one of the few icons I just grabbed from someone's icon journal.


husband_brother's default pic is the twin to this, which is why I have it. We need our matching icons, after all. Well, I need to have matching icons.... It's just a screencap from Lost Odyssey. Plus, it's always good to have a pissy icon, and no one does pissy like Cooke. :D

So, one day I decide I'm going to go for all the achievements in LO. Including getting all the dreams. And for some reason, I decided I would also read all the dreams. After about six or seven, I noticed a disturbing trend when it came to Kaim and 10 year olds. Apparently his solution for any problems they may have was to give them money and tell them to go start their own life. And since Mack is 10 when he and Kaim meet, and definitely having problems....


Ming is the quintessential fair maiden for me. It's a nod to both the fairy tale/Rapunzel aspects of her character that I love, and the fact that I love we have a sexy, flirtatious, adult (and more, lady's 1000) woman who is fully in control of her sexuality but is still a virgin. (Or at least that's how I interpret it, based on her past and how she was about people.) Plus, she is my avatar everywhere on the internet, so I need a good few different icons of her. This is actually the one I use on Twitter! Which this morning earned me the title 'Kelolon Slayer'. :D

I seem to have found that place where I'm balancing everything rather well. I'm getting chores done, getting cleaning/packing done, and I'm still finding time to get in a bit of RP and write and chat with people. This is good! I like balance!

Not much else to say. I'm writing some steamy porn, and I'm really trying to push myself when it comes to femmeslash. I have a history of writing very...vague, euphemistic femmeslash. And that's silly. Femmeslash can be just as hotdirtypronny as anything else, and by Hohenheim, I'm going to write hotdirtypronny femmeslash!

I also have a confession to make. A fandom confession, not the naughty sexy fun kind. ;)

I have a terrible weakness for band AUs. I don't know why, I can't explain what my fascination is, I just love fic or art involving characters as musicians. I know that these are usually terribly done, and they make no sense, and in most of my fandoms it's a ridiculously stupid idea, but the fact remains.

I don't generally go reading these fics, and I'd never write one to post online, but I liked thinking about who would be in a band together, what sort of music they'd write, would they be famous, what would their albums look like?

I guess it's my 'guilty pleasure' scenario, or something. We all have them.

There was also a time I really dug vampire AUs. I've moved beyond that stage, but in the interest of full disclosure, I felt it bore mentioning.

I was up before 10 AM today. I'm going to shoot for that every morning, if possible. I'm very much trying to adopt an 'early to bed, early to rise' pattern - which is why I seem to drop off the face of the earth around 7 or 8 my time. (Though last night it's because I was cooking then eating dinner, then beginning my pre-bed routine.)

I'm starting to get new calluses in my hand from my new cane. It sits just a little bit differently in my hand then the old one.

Yesterday, I pinched a nerve in my back. Today, I still have a pinched nerve in my back. It's right between my shoulder blades, so everytime I move, it hurts. Badly. It hasn't responded to heat or pills, either. I'm bed ridden today, which is a bummer, as I had a lot of things to do today.

I did manage to hit more thrift stores yesterday, and while I didn't find another record player, I found some very cute clothes and some stuff for my room. So, since I'm stuck in bed, here's a meme:

I seem to have caught some sort of bug over the weekend. I was fine until maybe 11 o'clock last night, when suddenly I found myself with aching, stuffed sinuses and a cough so bad I was throwing up. O.o

On the mend now, it seems, but that was rather hellish.

Why has no one yet told me how horrible I am at first sentences? *winces* I need to work on my opening lines. Standing alone, without the rest of the paragraph to support them, they fall rather flat. And half of them don't even read like opening lines, they look like they were taken from the middle of a paragraph. So in the sense that I know what I need to work on, this was a worthwhile meme to do.

I hope I start feeling better shortly, so I can get back to packing.

I know a lot of people on my Flist have Cosplay.com galleries, but it can be really hard getting comments on there. Especially if you don't update frequently, or have a ton of pictures, or cosplay the 'popular' characters.
