While I am pleased with all the work on getting the house and shed up to snuff, the days and days of busting my ass have caught up with me. I'm sick. I woke up extremely stuffy and full of drainage, and it hasn't gone away like it normally should. Head is fuzzy and packed with cotton, body aches, you know the drill. Sickness has come to the House of Venture. :(

I think I'm going to take care of a couple little things that I put off, and then just veg on the couch and watch movies until I'm feeling well enough to post and things. This is seriously piss poor timing for this. :/

In better news, we have some lovely new furniture we scared up at the local VA Thrift store. A gorgeous solid oak coffee table (10$) two lovely old wooden chairs for the shed (10$ for the set) and a beautiful Japanese lamp. Plus I picked up an old vintage movie poster (Phantom of the Opera) and a Led Zeppelin black light poster for the shed - not from the thrift store, but still. [livejournal.com profile] summoneddestiny dropped by last night, and we ended up making a run to the mall. It was a good run. And epic, epic hilarity was had, as always. I'm pretty sure some of our conversations had an effect on my dreams last night... ;)

So at least the hard work is paying off, and I'm not sick for nothing. And I do have leftover cheeseburger bacon feast pizza in the fridge, and potato soup in the cabinet. And three newly rented movies.

Moo cow go boom.

The shed smells like clean! This morning had me scrubbing down every inch I could possibly scrub down with Mr. Clean diluted in water. I'm really, really happy with how it's coming along. I feel comfortable and happy in there, which is a good thing, since I'll soon be spending weekend evenings in there. I still need to track down a couch, since I don't trust myself with the complicated folding chair in a state of herbal relaxation. I'd probably manage to get myself stuck in it.

My folks dropped by and put together my sewing table, too! It's currently being used to house Halloween decorations, but soon I shall be sewing again! And Nija is busy working on finishing up our spiderwebs!

In about half an hour we're heading into the square. My folks gave me a little money to do some stuff with the shed, so I want to check out the New Age/Hippie store and see what they have in the way of wall decorations and whatnot. Hell, they may even have the stuff I need to get the epic pipe up and running! It's nice and clean now - and has a gorgeous blue and green overlayed scale design on the base - and has been washed away of Damn Dirty Hippie Taint. It just needs a stopper and tube.

There is leftover pizza in the fridge and plenty of soda, and later on I'm going to clean the bathroom. It's a hell of a lot more satisfying to work on your own home.

I really should finish getting changed and put a shirt on....

Who's kicking the Devil Shed's ass? [livejournal.com profile] nijawial and I!

After a big breakfast of biscuits with gravy, butter and honey (not altogether) we suited up with gloves and cleaning supplies and started Day 2 of the Great Shed Cleanup.

Swept the carpets, removing all the big things - magnets, coins, shards of glass, buttons, plastic letters, etc - and hauled out some crap to clean. Including a bucket, a Christmas tree stand, a lawn chair and a koosh ball. This resulted in a small water fight, as it's warm once again, and between the beautiful day, the progress, and the musical accompaniment, we were in pretty good moods!

Nija got the shelves clean, and threw out what we deemed safe to throw out. There are small tanks of propane that we're not sure how to dispose of safely, so we're waiting on those. Then there was vacuuming and now Febreeze is doing its job to make the place smell nice.

Honestly, there's a huge difference already. You can see the change, and how much cleaner it looks. Which...says a lot, as it's still not exactly clean. We also discovered a beautiful leather jacket that had been shoved behind the Blood Fridge, and was so disgusting it had to be thrown out. Which is quite a pity.

Next is going to be scrubbing the appliances out there, but a small break was needed.

I'll be catching up on RP stuff in a bit, once I'm completely done with the shed for the day!
