So, the first month of the
fullservicefma monthly fic competition is over and done with. We got a lot of really, really good entries. And this month's winners are, for those of you who don't follow the comm but still may be interested:
Afterbirth, by
rocketwizzard. It's mange-verse. I don't even actually read the manga and I loved this piece. It's haunting, touching, a bit dark and very real. It's Winry/Ed and Winry/Al, and there is allusion to character death. But it's beautifully written, and the author has an amazing way with words.
Every Morning, by
swantonbomb6. Have you ever just read something and felt like everything clicked? That was this piece. It's tight, it's neat, it's bittersweet and it's funny, and it's such an original little idea. It's Havoc/Roy, PG, and I can't express enough love for it.
I also want to rec
momoiro_usagi's Eclipsing the Sun. She writes some of the most beautiful FMA Yuri I have ever read, and this Lust/Rose piece is stunning. The flow of words is beautiful, the underlying theme of redemption and the futility of religion and humankind's need for belief in a higher power was masterfully done. It's NC-17, so be warned! And there is church-smut and reluctance. But well, well worth the read.
I'm going out again today, so I shall not be around much until much later. The monthly challenge over at
scarlust will be wrapping up midnight tonight, and the new challenge will be announced tomorrow. We've got some awesome entries this month, I'm very pleased overall. I'll be posting them all tomorrow. :D
Alright, time to get my ass out of bed!
