I remember now, why I don't join the main communities for fandoms I'm into.
They make me want to smack people. A lot. And fans are worried the premiere of the Death Note dub on Adult Swim is going to fill the fandom with idiots? Remove the spot from thine own eye....
On dubs, I am sick and tired of the idea that fans of dubs/people who prefer dubs are somehow stupider, less appreciative, or not real fans of the series. I like dubs. I prefer dubs. Dubs thrill me and make me tingle in my happy bits.
I have a lot of reasons for this. This post isn't going to turn into 'Fey's Justification of Why She Likes Dubs', because I don't feel I should have to justify it. I like dubs. I also Mercedes Lackey books, Sex and the City, a number of off the wall pairings that have next to no canon basis, and Adult Swim cartoons. And that's a-okay. No one else has to like them, and it doesn't bother me one whit if people don't. I don't pick my friends based on arbitrary qualifiers like that.
What does bother me is when people somehow think these are epic windows into my psyche and personality. That clearly because not everything I enjoy is deep and intellectual, or perfectly preserved, obviously I'm a moron.
ANYWAY! I found L and Light's Homoerotic Subtext Scene on Youtube, but it's poor quality and I don't know how to embed it into an LJ entry. (Also, it's called L and Light's Gay Moment on Youtube). BUT! It was a different sub than I had seen, and the two are so vastly different that it really changes how that scene is to be viewed. So now I'm all confused, as often happens when I am exposed to multiple different fan subs.
I have five slots left for Advent Fics, sign up here. This year, this is no dominating fandom in the requests. Last year it was FMA, year before it was HP. This year... I'm writing House, Discworld, HP, Death Note, FMA, Due South (yay!)....
I'm going to start my
all_hallows_fic today. I have decided I am doing the DN/Lovecraft crossover. I just need to decide what I want the villain to be. I'm leaning to Star Spawn.
I need lunch.
