My Day

I actually got out tonight! I went with [livejournal.com profile] nekokoban and [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu to the ADP, and despite a few small hitches, the evening went well. Watched a bit of anime, chatted with some very nice people, and then grabbed dinner on the Ave. After coming home, I took my bath and then we watched a bit of Highlander with [livejournal.com profile] rivendellrose and [livejournal.com profile] narsilion. We watched 'Til Death' once more, and finished up the horseman arc. Watching it this time, with so many things in mind, I picked up on a lot of very subtle symbolism and foreshadowing. I will say no more, as [livejournal.com profile] rivendellrose and [livejournal.com profile] zinjadu have only seen up to 'Revelation 6.8'. But I know it's not just me reading too much into things, because [livejournal.com profile] nekokoban picked up on it too.

I need to get my ass down to the library soon. I need more things to read. I've gone through all the Tom Robbins books I got a few months ago (Skinny Legs and All is still my favorite) and I've been craving a good, meaty novel. Or Church and State Volume II, but I doubt the library has a copy. I may have to check out the corner comic store's used section.

All in all, a good day. And with luck, I can actually finish my damn Lucius/Narcissa/Severus fic this weekend.

Sorry to keep spamming your flist, but I've had a lot to post about today!

It being a beautiful day and a three-day weekend, the household decided to take a trip to the local used book store. There are few places I like better than used book stores. And today was no different. I imagine the cashier must have been slightly confused at the eclectic selection of tomes I purchased:

The German Cookbook
Speaking of Christ: Lesbian Views on Christianity
The Ultimate Jack the Ripper Companion
Rubyfruit Jungle
The Evil Men Do: Criminal Profiling
The Happy Home's Breakfast Companion

Mmmmmm, dirt cheap books. I've got plenty to read now, and we cracked open the FMA video game today. And are already stuck. All in all, it's shaping up to be a damn good weekend.
