Slash Oddity
Aug. 17th, 2003 07:54 pmI just had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine.
Tara: I wish I were Peter in a Peter/Remus fic. which sounds kinda odd..but i'm not thinking striaght right now
Me: No, if you were Peter and you were with Remus, I'd have to ask you if I could have a threesome.
Tara: Cause you'd want Peter and Remus at the same time? lol
Me: hells yes.
I realize I am perhaps unhealthily addicted to men that are not real. I fixate on them, have elaborate sexual fantasies about them (sometimes concerning myself, sometimes each other) But I'm not alone. Plenty of other friends of mine do the exact same thing! And we don't think it strange! It's not until we discuss it with *other* people who look at us weird that we think there me something not right about this. Mainly, it's the 'with each other' part that makes me pause every now and again.
Okay, it's rather normal to fantasize about being with an actor of fictional character. But fantasizing about said character with *another* male character...it's a bit odd, when one takes a step back and looks at it. I'm female. I'm bisexual leaning towards homosexuality. I do not have a penis. Why would the thought of two penis', and no female bits at all excite me? It makes, to me, no sense whatsoever!
The thought of a female giving a male a blowjob does nothing for me. Even in fandom. Ie, Tonks going down on Remus. Nothing. But, say, Severus going down on Remus...now you've got my attention. I read pornographic sfan fiction. It arouses me. But porn's main appeal is the simulation of sex it affords the reader/watcher! I don't have a penis!
It just strikes me as odd. I know there's no jealousy issues, oddly, when it comes to slash. I hate seeing male characters with certain female characters. (Methos/Cassandra is a biggie)but I don't care if they're with each other. But I still don't get why it's such a turn on. Other then just being very, very hot to look at. Read about. Whatever.
