Not Dead, I Swear!
Sep. 8th, 2011 12:14 pmI just felt like I was for a while. :/
Been fighting health issues this week, but I seem to be on the mend today. Woozy and weak and still having some trouble keeping down foods, but much better than constantly dry heaving and not being able to keep down water!
Kitties are still doing wonderfully! Sheila has pretty much become Sophie's adopted mom, even calling for her to bathe her when Sheila decides it's bath time. It's really kind of adorable to see my giant, grumpy, hates-everyone-but-me-and-that-is-oft-debatable siamese turning into a snuggly pile of goo over a bitty little kitten. They even sleep curled up together when it's sleepy time.
Though sometimes the chosen spot is my head, which is less than fun to wake up to. I have enough face hugger nightmares as it is, kitty cats.
I haven't been doing too much except trying to get work in while I've been ill and watching a fuckton of original Twilight Zone on Netflix. I thought I was pretty well versed on my Twilight Zone episodes, but I've done been proved wrong again. There are a lot I have never seen, and watching them has given me so much insight into various authors, directors and artists I adore.
Oh, also watched the first half of 2001: A Space Odyssey. I feel like I need to hand over my Stoner Geek Kubrick Fan Card for admitting I've, um, never actually seen it before. I'd seen bits and pieces, and I know the whole plot, and weirdly enough I saw a large chunk of 2010, but I'd never seen the original. But last Friday, after returning from Gaming Night, it was time to open up the old consciousness and give it a go. We were falling asleep by the intermission, but...damn. This is a fucking amazing movie. And not as bizarre, wandering and hard to follow as I had been led to believe. I don't know if this is just because I am familiar with the story or if I have an entirely different idea of what's actually happening. We shall see!
Tomorrow it's the anniversary of a friend's shop, so there's a big to-do! We were specifically invited as friends, and I even got to help choose some of the movies that will be played! Heee, The Wizard! And hopefully Scott Pilgrim, since M couldn't accept that I hadn't seen it yet, knowing I am a Scott Pilgrim fan. N&A are going - they've turned into such hardcore gamers! - and K&M, so it'll be a lot of fun to get out and hang with friends. Oh, also was able to pick up some games! I love the friend discount, I really do. :D
