15 Minutes Of Fame - Gone On Too Long
Oct. 12th, 2006 09:55 amSo. Ghost Hunters marathon yesterday. For anyone who's not familiar with the show, it's a Sci-Fi series that follows a team of paranormal investigators. The difference with this show is that they handle everything scientifically, and try and disprove whatever they can. Very good series.
Anyway, I was able to see the one on the hotel where Stephen King was inspired for The Shining, and the season premiere - which was Tombstone, AZ.
lennaofmidearth, I really recommend watching it if you get a chance. They did the Bird Cage, and I think you'd really appreciate it. Next week is the OK Corral. I guess it's AZ month, or something.
Anyway, this entry is not about Ghost Hunters, or haunted Arizona. It's about the show that came on after Ghost Hunters. Or, more accurately, a cast member.
The new series is called... well, I forget. Paranormal Investigations, or something. And it boasted 'a team of highly trained professionals, experts in their fields'. Oooh neat! They have : 'An archaeologist, a crime scene investigator, a paranormal investigator and... Rob from Boston'. I kid you not. Rob from Boston. Some of you may remember Boston Rob from Survivor, or his marriage reality TV show where he married that girl he met on Survivor. Now he's on Sci-Fi, as a... well, I wasn't sure what he did.
Apparently, Boston Rob is a highly trained professional skeptic. Man, where do you get your degree in that? Anyway, I watched half of the show before I was disgusted and turned it off. Boston Rob is very much still Boston Rob, and playing off of his Boston roots like it's the best shtick ever.
I've got to say, he's lost a lot of his charm.

I was going to write a whole little essay on gender roles in Resident Evil 0, but then I decided 'why bother?'. I've never been good with that kind of stuff, and it would probably just descend into an explanation of why Billy's leisure suit is made of awesome.
And man, this serial spammer thing is starting to bother me.
