Like a Zombie, Only Less Coherent

I was up way, way too late last night. But I really wanted to catch rivendellrose on to talk to her about some stuff, and I've been trying to beat Sahkmet Solitaire over on Neopets for days. My brain is fried. It was fried last night, and staying up until 2 am didn't help matters much.

I still have a wee bit of cleaning left to do today, before zinjadu gets here. I can't believe she's coming tomorrow! So just in case folks missed it, I won't be around as much as usual from Wednesday to next Monday. Wheee, mini-vacation. Which comes at a great time, because I start working again next week. It's been years since my last job, so this is both exciting and scary. Not that it's anything difficult - secretarial work, essentially - but still.

Now I need breakfast and to force myself into some semblance of being Awake. And respond to all the Fic Title comments!

Ferrets and Puppy

Okay, so the cutest thing just happened.

I decided to give the ferrets a bath today, since I didn't want to get all wet and dirty doing it tomorrow. I had the door between where there cage is and the sink open, so I could transport them easily. I plopped Strider in the sink, washed him, stuck him in the drying sack and let him scoot around on the floor in that. I completely forgot that the door was open, therefor allowing Lenna's year old terrier mix into the room. I turn around, and there's the dog nose-to-nose with the ferret - whose body is still in the drying sack, just his little head is poking out.

Pepper (the puppy) has always been a bit wary of the fuzzies, and had never met them outside of the cage before. I pick up Strider and let them nose each other and smell each other a bit, and then the two start giving kisses on each other's noses. I let them do this for a bit. Then I put Strider back in and take out Fal - the next victim, who loves bathtime - and Pepper follows me in and wiggles and yips at my feet while I'm giving Fal his bath. As soon as I sit down to put him in the sack, she jumps up on my lap and starts nuzzling and kissing him. He goes back in the cage and she follows, and sits there with her nose stuck through the bars so he can lick her nose.

I really wish I'd had a camera on hand, because that was absolutely adorable.
