Feb. 9th, 2005 10:44 amI seem to have worked out my transition issues. I ended up scrapping the whole scene and going a completely different route. I'd like to have it done by Valentine's Day, so finger's crossed.
I've been noticing my own personal growing annoyance with certain prefaces to fan fiction. Authors who feel the need to apologize for their stories. Posting a fic and saying 'I know this sucks, I'm sorry, go easy on me!' is the big one. (No one on my flist does this, I see it in communities.) If you really think your fic sucks that badly, why post it? Or rather, why post it and expect people to go easy on it? If I post something that's not up to my usual standards, I expect people to tell me. If you want good feedback, why not work at the story and revise it until you're happy with it? Hell, forget good feedback, if you want to be happy with your work, why not make the extra effort to make it something you'd be happy with? I don't mind it the first couple of times an author does it, but when it gets to be normal....
Moving on, can anyone tell me why the Aeon Flux VHS set is going for 140$ used? When the Reign the Conqueror DVD set is only 30$ new? That's a 4 DVD set. The Aeon Flux set? 3 VHSs. Are VHSs that rare that they've become worth more expensive than DVDs?
