So now the real update, after I got that bit of silliness out of my system:

I've been thinking a lot about fandom lately. I don't consider myself heavily involved in it, but I belong to a good number of communities and I have a fairly good sized Flist. And the longer I'm involved, and the more I do, I realize that fandom really is a society unto itself. And like all societies and communities, we find ourselves sharing social circles with or running into at public places, people we don't get on with. It happens. It's unavoidable. And I've seen so many people take this so seriously.

I've had people tell me flat out 'so and so is on your Flist and we don't get along, so either un-friend them or me'. I don't know if this is all that common, but it bothers me. A lot. I share friends with people I don't get along with. I'm in communities with people I don't like. And I've personally found that the best way to deal with this is the same way I do it in real life: be civil when need be, ignore the rest of the time.

Not everyone gets along all the time. And that's fine. It doesn't have to be a huge thing, and it doesn't have to be a big deal. We're all here to have fun.

Due to a lot of unexpected happenings on my way home yesterday, I'm behind in my ficcage. I'm trying to finish up my Snape/Draco fic for posting tomorrow while watching Truly, Madly, Deeply with rivendellrose and zinjadu. Sadly, I am sleepy and keep making horrible typos like 'thirsting' for 'thrusting' and bizarre things like that.

Ice cream isn't good for keeping one awake.
