Title: A Matter of Trust
Pairing: Remus/Sirius/Severus
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: Lies
Summary: Remus understands that people lie, even the men he shares his life with. But he likes to think otherwise, sometimes.
Lies were a part of human nature. It was a sad fact, but one Remus knew all too well. Everyone lied. There were the little white lies - the ‘I was out late working’ which really meant ‘I was having a drink after work - which weren’t horrible, and people told without even thinking about it. There were the bigger lies - the ‘I was out late working’ which really meant ‘I was having a drink with that cute waitress after work - which were almost harmless but carried a fair amount of guilt with them. And there were the big lies - the ‘I was out late working’ which really meant ‘I was sleeping with that cute waitress after work’ - and those were the ones that always came back to haunt a man.
Remus had long since learned to tell when those he was close to were lying. Sirius had a habit of running his hand through his hair as though untangling it. His face was always a mask of little boy innocence, but Remus could spot his little white lies a mile away. Sirius didn’t - or perhaps couldn’t - tell him anything other than little white lies.
Severus could hide his little white lies, and his medium lies, and sometimes even his big lies. Remus had learned to read the tightness around the potion master’s eyes, the way the crow’s feet flexed and pulled together. But even that wasn’t always accurate. Severus was too good at lying to fool even Remus.
It was funny, really. Remus trusted Sirius because he knew the man couldn’t lie to him, even if he tried. Remus trusted Severus because he could lie to him, and Remus found it easier to simply believe that he didn’t.

Title: Unlikely Times and Places
Pairing: Roy/Hughes
Prompt:
landels-verse
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Hughes can always think of a way to pass the time, even at night in Landels.
“So…” Hughes pursed his lips and drummed his hands on his thighs, looking around the room with a vaguely perplexed expression. He wanted to say that they’d been in worse situations than this, but he really couldn’t think of any. “The door’s gone, we’ve got no lights, you lost your matches and there’s some thing on the other side of the wall. What do we do now?”
Roy only glared at him, as though silently reprimanding him for doing nothing other than stating the obvious and then leaving all the decision making up to him.
“Okay, okay!” Hughes threw up his hands. “Well, I guess we could always just stay in here until morning. We’re just gonna wake up in our rooms anyway, and at least there’s no monsters in here.”
“And what do you suggest we do to pass the time? It’s a rather long wait until morning.”
Trust Roy to always look on the downside of things. If they’d been stuck in the game room, that would have been easy enough. But no. They had to end up in the damn music room, with nothing but chairs and couches and pillows… Hughes grinned, a mischievous glint coming to his eye.
“Well… I might have a couple of ideas,” he said, sneaking up behind Roy and slipping his arms around the other man’s waist, careful to hold his torso away from Roy’s back. He‘d gotten rather good at keeping those damned feelers out of physical contact. “I mean, if we’re gonna be stuck here all night…”
“This is hardly the time or the place, Hughes,” Roy protested, and Hughes imagined he could hear his friend rolling his eyes. Arguing would be useless, and so Hughes employed more tactile persuasive measures, involving his tongue and Roy’s neck.
As it turned out, trapped in the music room with no way out and monsters crawling along the outside wall was indeed the time and the place. Or close enough, anyway.

Title: Family Man
Pairing: Sloth/Hughes
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Ep 25
Summary: There's something about him that appeals to Sloth...
It was only information gathering. Sloth slid her liquid limb through the keyhole of the front door, wondering why she was forced out in the middle of the night to sneak into the soldier’s home. This was far more suited to Envy. But Envy was overzealous and often didn’t follow orders the way that he should. And so it was Sloth who slipped silently through the darkened corridors and rooms of the Hughes household, eyes missing no detail.
The sleeping couple didn’t stir when she passed through the bedroom, and she intended to give them only a moment’s glance. She could tell that under the covers they were curled up to one another, sleeping in a lover’s embrace. She paused, her eyes drawn to the clasped hands that lay on top of the blankets, and the drowsy smiles that painted the faces of both man and wife. Something inside of her fluttered for a moment. She shook her head and moved on, not wanting to spend another minute in that silent bedroom.
The next day, she saw him in the halls of Headquarters. He was still smiling, jabbering on about his daughter as he was so prone to do. He truly was a family man. She paused again, watching him as he walked by, and her hand itched to reach out and clasp his.

Title: Mirror Image
Pairing: Vague Dante/Sloth
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: Mirror
Spoilers: Eps 45+
Summary: Sometimes, Dante thinks, it's like looking into a mirror.
“There now, don’t you feel better?” Dante flitted about her youngest homunculus like a hummingbird, her voice soothing. It was like looking into a mirror, sometimes. Dante liked to imagine she could see the same pain of abandonment in Sloth’s eyes that she had seen so often in her own, all those years ago. Sloth had fallen to ruin because Hohenheim had left her, left her human counterpart. But Hohenheim was gone now. From both of their lives. Dante laughed to herself, pleased with how everything was falling into place.
“You deserve more than him,” Dante urged, her fingers brushing back Sloth’s hair and tracing the fine lines of her porcelain cheeks. “When you’re human, you’ll find a better man. One who won’t ever leave your side.” At least she had that. Hohenheim had left even the woman he claimed to love so very dearly. The woman who’s image stood before Dante now, silent and stern and passive.
Sometimes, Dante wanted to smash the mirror and be done with it.

And much love for the Dante/Sloth, too.

But Sloth/Hughes is pretty! Even though that doesn't justify anything...

It is very pretty. No, but it still makes for nice things to think about!
