An Amazing Discovery
So my dearest
mikazuki and I were talking last night, and we got onto old shows we used to watch and how so many of them are coming to DVD. Count Duckula is on DVD, Captain N is coming to DVD, and Cori informed me of something I did not know and probably never would have found out on my own.
The Legend of Zelda 80s Cartoon is on DVD! All 13 episodes, bonus features, all of it in a lovely 3 DVD set. It is 20 bucks brand new from Amazon. I wantsss it, precioussss! I have all the episodes burned onto CDs, but they're crappy downloads with fuzzy quality and barely audible audio. But I cling to them, because this was my favorite show of all time. Princess Zelda was my first girl!crush ever. I wanted to grow up and be Link. And I never thought it would come to DVD, since it was just a short feature every Friday on the Super Mario Brothers Show. Which is also on DVD. But separately. LoZ gets its own DVD set!
Also, Animaniacs are coming to DVD. Get the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon out, and I will be content.
Who needs television anymore?
(And dude, if Zelda can come to DVD, Roar can come to DVD. Seriously.)

Princess Zelda was my first girl!crush ever. This amuses me immensely, since I had a huge crush on Link.
...I love that admitting a crush on an animated character based on a video game is actually not the weirdest crush I've ever had on a fictional character.
no subject
HA! Damn, that is funny!
But Link ruled! He kicked ass and he was funny and snarky and full of himself and he never wore pants! Hey, look, I did grow up to be Link after all! ;)
Though I know what you mean about weird fictional character crushes... :D

You have much stronger memories of this whole thing than I do, clearly - I remember having a crush on Link, but that's about it. But if he was snarky and kickass, that does pretty much cover my usual requirements for a crush, so... I can so see you getting into the no-pants thing, too. That's just perfect. XD
We've both had our share of those, yes. I'm torn as to whether Spock, Odo, or Garak is the weirder of mine. I'm pretty sure nothing I've got can top one of those three in terms of sheer, crazy geekitude.
no subject
Well, I've watched them many times since them, as I have them downloaded. He was horribly snarky. And a womanizer. But he only had eyes for Zelda! Who strung him along something awful, the tease. Watching it with an adults eyes, you realize how many sexual jokes and references are in it. Link had a dirty, dirty mind. :D NO PANTS!
It just means we have taste, clearly. ;) I have no idea who my weirdest fictional crush is... now I'm going to be trying to figure it out.
no subject
That's right, I remember when you downloaded them. Heh. I love that about kid's shows - they've always got those sly little jokes for the parents that are stuck watching along with their kids. Did you ever see the aninmated movie of Adventures of Sinbad? It's almost as slashy as Road to El Dorado, seriously.
A 1960s Vulcan, a bucket of gelatin, and a compulsive-liar lizard-man. "Good taste." Maybe you had good taste back then... for me, I'm still wondering. And you totally should figure it out. It's important to know where all your weird little kinks and quirks come from. Besides, it's funny. XD

I know! And this was...bad. Though I appreciate the Evil-Zelda-Clone and Zelda mud wrestling for a large chunk of one episode... Mmmm, Zelda Mud Wrestling.... Yes, I did see that! And it was quite slashy, though nothing will beat El Dorado, I think.
Spock is not a weird crush, I think, since thousands of women also crush on him. :D I know I had a thing for one of the Ninja Turtles. I want to say Leonardo. I had a thing for Lucca from Chrono Trigger - which says something about my taste right there. In a game where the three female characters are: a sexy blond amazon in a fur bikini, a blond ninja princess in a slinky harem pants and halter outfit, and a geeky robot building purple haired chick in glasses and a mechanics jumpsuit and I go for the third one.... yeah.

o_O Okay, that's more than the usual amount of undertone. Holy crap. Ah, the 80s - when PC hadn't been invented yet. Such a crazy, crazy time.
True, although I was a generation or two late to be in with that crowd. ;) I seem to recall having a thing for Leonardo as well, which'd be funny considering how infrequently our tastes coincide (far as I know, Alan Rickman and Ivanova are the only other examples). As for the video game... why would you want the Amazon? You already are the Amazon. Clearly, you have to go for the one that you aren't. ;)

And then there was the 'Zelda, you swing a sword like a girl!' 'I am a girl!' *Link leers at Zelda's cleavage* 'Yeah, I noticed.' Ah, good times, good times.
Oh, you'd be surprised. ;) Leonardo was the coolest turtle ever. Yeah, our tastes don't match up very often. Mmmm, Ivanova. Now I want to go look for Ivanova/Lyta fic, because that would be the hottest thing ever. Or maybe Ivanova/Talia/Lyta.... excuse me, I have to go to my happy place.
I AM AMAZON! I'm also in a very, very strange mood today.

Don't tempt me. I was attacked by a Talia/Ivanova unrequited bunny last night after finishing the season. My first B5 bunny. But I am not going to write fic (or read it!!!) until I've seen enough that I won't have to worry about being horribly wrong/spoiled about things. *Determined* ...I need an Ivanova icon, though. I kept trying to cap the damned "boom" scene, but it just doesn't want to work.
*Laughs* And that's different than usual because...? ;)

Interesting. Where are you in the series, again? Babylon 5 was one of the first fandoms I ever wrote fic for. You haven't met the character I'd write most about yet. Ah, getting caps can be a pain. I know there's tons of websites with B5 screencaps, Ivanova especially.
I don't know, I'm just... bouncy. And I wrote more porn!

On the subject of the caps... I'm sure they're out there, I've just been going through hell trying to find good sites for them. Not to mention sites that keep things in order - I don't want to stumble onto anything I shouldn't be seeing yet!
Lol. Well, bouncy is good. And yay!

There's one awesome site that has caps of all the ladies, and it's all organized by seasons. Lemme see if I can dig it up for you. It's where I got the cap for my Susan/Talia icon.
Indeed! And it's raining and I have work tomorrow. Yay porn! Mmmm, delicious porn.
no subject
Awesome! Yes, if you could find the link to that it'd be fabulous. I've been skimming through the few archives I've found with my eyes half-closed, trying not to see anything 'bad.'
That's good that it's raining down there - it's been sunny and hot up here, but it might be starting to cloud up again a little, judging by today.

We may have to go over this in more detail at some point.
...Rex Harrison? I was so weirdly fascinated by him when I was a kid....
no subject
Yeah, I'm interested to see if you develop any crushes when you watch Buffy and if we match up...
No, I never developed anything for him. My first major crush as a kid was Harrison Ford. Han, Indiana Jones...gosh, I loved him.
no subject
I already have a thing for Giles based just on the three episodes I've seen, if that's what you're wondering. Spike is adorable, but a little too punk-ass-kid for my tastes. ;)
Gah. I didn't see the Indiana Jones movies til I was older, but I adored Han Solo when I was little. Harrison Ford = so very gorgeous. Especially back then.
no subject
Well, that answers my question :D I loved Giles from the start. I did eventually develop a thing for Spike but that came later. And I think it was born out of my immense distaste for Angel.
Yes, well...I'm old ;) I may not look it, but boy do I feel it sometimes.

I was glad to make you so happy with the info. Happier than I've ever made you before, surely. Heh. :) *hug*
Psh, dear.. original TMNT cartoon is out on dvd. Where have you been? ;P I watched that one too. I didn't know we had so many tastes overlapping with cartoons..
I suppose I could say more, but I'm fairly miserable again. Sorry.. *hugs*
no subject
Pah, no. *smooches* You have made me much happier on a regular basis. :D I'm just excited to know it is within my grasp!
*faceplams* I'm so behind on cartoons that are out on DVD. I fail! I loved TMNT. So much. And Ghostbusters!
*cuddles you* It's okay, love. You can vent/rant/whatever to me when you come on MSN. *kisses*

Wanna get the Batman Beyond season 1 DVD set.
With the release of Justice League season 1 as a DVD set, eagerly looking forward to its season 2 set. (I LOVE season 2, things get sooo much better. ^_^)
I'm looking forward to Bones season DVD set...a lot.
Gonna try collecting CSI season DVD sets*Grissom!*...and Golden Girls season DVD sets. (They're my guilty pleasure. XP And goofy FMA characters like Granny Pinako and Armstrong are more guilty pleasures of mine. XP What can I say, I'm a guilty pleasure girl. XP)
