Seeking Sleep Aide....

Boiled milk with vanilla extract and cinnamon is nasty. But supposedly extremely helpful to cure insomnia, and is supposed to knock you out within half an hour. And as I have no valerian and haven't yet bought any kava, I'm desperate to try anything to get me to sleep.

And since we're on topic... Natural Insomina Remedies! Anyone have any tried and true cures for just not being able to sleep?

Ginger has a mild sedative property. Ginger with chaomomile and peppermint in a tea, with honey to taste. That will work.

Oh, and ginger has the added bonus of having antiviral properties making it an effective weapon against colds, so two for the price of one. Get some fresh root from the store, grate a teaspoon's worth or so, steep in hot water 5-10 minutes, and give your taste buds a kick.

I used to drink it with black tea. Even with black tea, it was strong enough to make me drowsy.

I absolutely love ginger. I use it as an antiviral and to calm my stomach, but I haven't tried using it as a sedative. I'll have to give that a try!
