A Couple of Hughes Rec Things

So, hughesathon stories are mostly all up.

evilhippo wrote me a lovely, lovely movie-verse piece. It's Echos of Dreams, and it does a very nice job of weaving together movie canon with series canon. The fic was written around the movie, which worked extremely well. The parallels were very, very nicely done. It's spoiler-tastic, so be warned.

I also want to point out burningvigor's Ownership. Now, I don't generally like Homunculus!Hughes fics. I've read some, and they just haven't sat well with me. But I have nothing but praise for this fic. It was emotional, descriptive, powerful and moving. It made me cry. It is a rare, rare fan fic that can make me cry. burningvigor has the firmest grasp on Roy of any fic author I've read so far, and the way she explores the themes and scenarios in this fic are stunning. I really, really encourage you all to read it. And I really, really liked her Homunculus!Hughes. He was very, very much a sin, but still Hughes. It was a balance that I haven't seen done so well ever before.

And I posted mine, also. A Moment In Time. Bittersweet gen fluff focusing on Hughes and Elysia.

There are many more fics there that I need to read, but will do so when I am done cleaning/unpacking/whatever. In other news, I got my wall scroll hung up!

Just popping in here to let you know I thought that fic was amazing. So not the type of stuff I normally read, but wow I'm so glad I did read it. I'd say more but I'm horrible at reviews and feedback and all that.

In that case, let me just add that you write an awesome Roy. That's one of the reasons I read this. I knew how well you write him based off Landel's and I adore Roy, so I really wanted to see how he would come across in a fic like this. And well, you already know I liked the fic :D

I'm really glad you think so. I worry about my Roy sometimes, but people seem to like him quite a bit-- which is good, because he isn't my typical character. XD;

You really shouldn't worry because he's perfect. But I get like that with whatever characters I'm playing. And I don't write fic at all so the only time I write them is in RP. And I'm always apprehensive when I try out a new character. And I'd never know Roy isn't typical for you.
