Last Day of My Week....

It is 10:30, and the second load of laundry is already in the washing machine. This bodes well for today's productivity, I believe! I plan on doing a little bit more cleaning today and maybe I shall make some brownies.

Izumi is hard for me to write. I knew she would be, so it's no surprise. She's harder than Hohenheim, honestly, and I didn't think that would be possible. Hohenheim was one of the most difficult characters I've ever attempted to write. But now Izumi takes the cake. Most difficult fic I could ever imagine writing would be one that starred both Izumi and Luna Lovegood. Because I cannot write Luna, either. Love the character, just can't write her.

I revisited my FMA/Lovecraft crossover fic yesterday. A friend of mine is a very big fan of both FMA and Lovecraft, which gave me a bit of encouragement. It may see the light of day yet! But right now I need to finish Hughesathon fic and the Izumi/Envy fic.

And I hope that my upset stomach is a sign that I'll be sick this weekend, because I really don't want to be sick next weekend. :/

Izumi? OMG, I can only imagine how I'd struggle with her! I struggle with Roy...Roy, of all people. The rest of the world seems to write him fine, but he's just so different from me, and so mysterious. I don't know...I've deleted countless beginnings of Roy-centric stories just because I'm embarrassed by my inability to write him. I can imagine that Hohenheim would be equally challenging for me, but Izumi is even more difficult because she jumps all over the place with her emotions: one minute hard-as-nails, the next completely sensitive. And, on top of it all, she is rather mysterious and most of her backstory is never brought up in the anime. Good luck, hun. That's all I can say! I know you're an excellent writer, and I have faith in your characterization of her...but I completely feel your pain!

And I'm waiting anxiously for the story! ;)

Bah, I can't write Roy, either, honestly. I don't know what it is, I just can't get into his head. I always write my Roy/Hughes stuff from Hughes' point of view for that reason. Hughes I don't even have to think about. Yes, Izumi's wide range of emotions and her lack of backstory makes it difficult. Especially since my fic is taking place when she's a teenager, training with her teacher. So here's hoping it comes out good! :D

...I know what you mean about Izumi. I tried to write her, once, and she turned into one of those characters who just stood there without saying anything. She seems like she'd be really challenging to write.

Good luck with your fics! And hopefully you won't be sick next weekend, or this weekend. ^^

She's just such a difficult and complex character. I adore her, but damn is she hard to write!

Well, I'll be sick sometime over the next two weeks. 'Be sick' is my euphemism for the horrible nausea, pain, headache, hot/cold flashes and fever that accompanies every woman's worst time of the month for me. :/ I just hope it's not for con.

Even in canon, she's hard to predict – for me, she's a likable character, but hard to understand at times... I could never take a stab at what was going on inside her head. Kudos to you for writing her!

Ah, all right. ^^; *crosses fingers that you won't be sick during the con*

Izumi is pretty difficult to write, I admit, but she's not the hardest. I have yet to write Hohenheim outside of the early Elric family, too, so I can't exactly say he's difficult. I'm sure that you'll be able to get their characters down right, because you have that much talent. :D But I can understand the pain. I think the hardest for me to write is Roy and Ed (ironically enough, the protagonist). @@; I have yet to attempt Greed or his gang. They might be the most difficult yet.

::Hugs:: I hope you're not sick. And the con is next week? Eee~! I hope you feel better before then! Being sick for a con would be no fun, I imagine, especially since you're bracing to be Dante. X3 A character I STILL have yet to find in any con.

For me, there's just something about Izumi that's difficult for me to write. I have trouble getting into her head. And I've been looking over her inner monologue and dialogue, and realizing I'm drawing heavily from another female character from a completely different fandom, and this worries me. Roy is impossible for me to write. I just can't get into his head. Ed is one of the easiest, for me. I clicked with him immediately - all my early FMA stuff is Ed-centric and from his POV. I can't write Al's POV for the life of me. Greed was difficult to get a handle on, but once I did, he came pretty well. It's always interesting discussing the different difficulties individual authors have with certain characters.

Well, I know I will be, I am every month. I just don't want to be for con. :/ Thank you, though! Here's hoping I'll be alright for my big Dante debut. :D Yeah, I've come across two other Dante cosplayers in the whole country.

YAY!

It's definitely on the Big List of Things I Have to Write. :D I really need to finish my challenge fics before I start anything new... *is awful about writing things in any order*

I always thought the anime would reveal as to WHY Izumi hated the military, sicne that trait seemed to pointed out so much. (Was even certain that the military would end up being the reason her child died...at that point, already certain Izumi lost a child...but before ep. 30, and the Homunculus Revelation....)

I wanna say in disbelief, "Izumi's harder than Hoenheim?", but that's being too impulsive of me; I've never really written Izumi, and reach, to each his own, character difficulties. (I have a feeling I'm gonna have loads of trouble writing EDWARD....)

@chibi--Keep working on Greed....

I believe they did reveal why she hated the military. Bah, I forget what scene it was... but from what I gathered, she hates them because of how the exploit alchemy, and use alchemy against the people and to harm people instead of using it for good.

For me, I think Izumi is harder than Hohenheim. I have a much firmer grasp on male characters than I do on female characters in general, so that adds a little extra bit of difficulty to it.
