Fall Recipes!

Can you tell that Fey's bored yet? ;)

So the fall season is upon us, and that means fall goodies! As everyone knows, I love to bake in the fall and winter. Nothing's better on a cold, crisp day than baked goods fresh from the oven. Not to mention the warm smell of bread and pastries as they bake. And this year I've got an Apple Cranberry Pie recipe I've been dying to try out. I love cranberries, and it's a fairly simple recipe that doesn't take much time. If it comes out any good, I'll post it here. And apples are always a good fall treat. Apple Maple Crumble is especially yummy!

And of course, pumpkins. I love working with pumpkin flavor. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin tarts, and if I were any good at cheese cake, pumpkin spice cheese cake. Maybe I'll give it another try this year. :D I'm sure it won't be too much longer before I break out the beef stew, either. Despite the fact that I live in a desert area, it does get cold in the winter. And I love beef stew. And mashed potatoes! Garlic mashed potatoes slathered in thick, rich gravy....

I'm making myself hungry just writing about it!

So: what are your favorite fall recipes? Be it for desert, main course or appetizer, what's that special food you always look forward to when fall settles in?

You know I don't really use recipes for cooking, but I'm a huge fan of mild Italian sausage, cut up mixed baby potatoes, onions (obviously can be left out, for you!), and slices of apple and/or sweet potato, cut up and mixed with various spices (rosemary, fennel, thyme and black pepper, for me), drizzled in olive oil and baked until everything's soft and browned. Damned good dinner, far as I'm concerned.

As for dessert, I think you know how I feel about pumpkin pie. Also, I crave candy corn around this time of year. XD

That sounds really, really good. If you like that, you may want to try sausage apple pie. It's basically sausage, apple pie filling (home-made or canned), and cheddar cheese in a flakey pie crust.

Oooh, candy corn! I love that stuff.

Huh. I would never have thought of putting apple pie filling and cheese in the same thing, but it does sound intriguing... I might have to try it. Or at least the sausage and apple pie without the cheese, because that sounds totally amazing.

I don't know what they flavor that stuff with, but it's wonderful.
