Birthday Drabble!

Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] themostepotente!

And for you, a Snack drabble!

Title: This Time
Pairing: Severus/Sirius
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Severus hopes that this time will be different.

He’d told himself it was a bad idea, he was being stupid, Black was just going to trick him again. The last time had nearly ended in murder. But he couldn’t help it. Black crooked his finger and Severus found himself following. For every prank Black pulled, for every insult Severus shot back, there was a fantasy of something entirely different playing in the Slytherin’s mind. He knew it was stupid. He knew Black would rather bed a goat than him, but one part of his mind couldn’t help but hope that this time it would be different.

It wasn’t.

Young Snape is generally, unfortunately, a sad thing.

Snack? Snack. Snaaaaaaaaaaack. Snacksnacksnackitysnack.

[ok. forgive me. That word, in any context, amuses me.]

And aw. Poor little slimy git.

Snack! Which I prefer to Snupin or Blupin. Even though I am against the whole name thing because it's not done right at all.

*hugs the git*

Heeey. I like Blupin...

But you're right. Name things are stupid. They only work if the bastardized name-thing sounds catchy. Like Javey. Sort of.

I take issue with them since they were adopted very badly from Japanese manga. The combination of two surnames to make one pairing name is a play on sounds that doesn't work with how the English language is set up. To do it properly, Sirius/Remus would become.... Shiri, I think.

I had no idea that's where it came from. Guess I'll stop murdering the Japanese culture now.

It was born, as far as I can tell, by fangirls who have an obsession with all things Japanese. My housemate is Japanese, which is the only reason I know any of this. It got picked up, and now it's used by pretty much everyone. Even myself. It's funny how fandom and fandom terms evolve and change.
