I Don't Really Like Bass Bottles....
I'm pretty sure I got the last copy of Silent Hill 4: The Room available in town. I guess in the two weeks since Origins was released for PS2, it's become a rare and hard to find game. I figured I'd just pop into Hasting's and grab it while I had the money... Since I see it all the time for $16. HA! They didn't even have it to rent - all copies were out.
Gamestop had one used copy. No book, no box, nothing. Just a generic slipcase. And it's already doubled in price. But it's mine! And I shall beat it!
We played and beat Silent Hill 2 today, took 5 hours altogether, got the Maria ending like we'd been shooting for. Also poked around at various easter eggs and extras, and got an 8 out of 10 for ranking. Then we watched trailers for both Origins and SH 5: No Escape. Now we've got Shadow of Colossus in, and it's a beautiful game. Majestic, is the word that came to mind when I saw the opening sequence. The movement animation is also extremely impressive. I can definitely see why this game is used as an argument for video games being a valid artistic medium.
We've got munchies, drinks, video games and anime. Pretty much the best way to spend a weekend with a friend.
And
talia_speaks we drank for you last night!

Now if you drink for me tonight, I shall be in a better mood!
Sadly, my admirer Austin is completely ignoring me. Whatever. I still have John, and he is a bigger otaku that I can take to cons and stuff. I am sure you would approve of him as well.

So, we booted up SH4...and we can't seem to investigate anything, even when the little eyball pops up. We press the X button repeatedly, everywhere the eye is, and nothing happens....
Help?

Where are you right now? Decrepit looking, red and rusty apartment in first-person POV?

No, we made it to normal apartment and were trying to get the memo under the door. :/ But we couldn't do anything. Everything else works fine.

My other guess was that maybe the button configuration had been set to something else, but if it's letting you investigate other stuff, that's clearly not the case. Sounds like a glitch.
Let me know if it's still fucking up after you restart it and I'll try my best to help you figure out what's going on :O

Not that I think they could replace the game, anyway.

What like.... part are you at? Did you go to the subway yet? I would suggest checking a GameFAQs walkthrough and pinpointing exactly what you're supposed to be doing at this instant.
Any chance it might be your console? D: I'd certainly hope not

The issue was so...messed up. I got desperate, and wondered if maybe if was because my controller was a cheap knock off brand....
So we switched it with an official PS2 controller and it works fine. So apparently it was my controller that just wouldn't recognize that one action. O.o

I'm glad it's working now, though! :D Enjoy the game :33
