Vainglory - Cuddy/Cameron - PG-13
This is all
burningvigor's fault. I said I'd never do this. I've had multiple conversations where I've said I'd never do this. But I'm doing it. Fuck it, I need a House icon.
Title: Vainglory
Author:
theladyfeylene
Fandom: House MD (Yes, you're reading that right.)
Pairing: Cuddy/Cameron
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 200
Spoilers: N/A
Summary: Cameron was both humble and proud, an irritating mix of smug humility and pious ideals...
There was something about Cameron that managed to be both endearing and aggravating at once. Her desire to do good was tempered by a vein of smug self righteousness, a moral piety that set Cuddy’s teeth on edge. She was a creature of rigorous justification, of high-held-head superiority and indignant virtue. She believed in the right thing, in honesty, in ethics ruling over logic. She was a wonderful healer - of minds and bodies - but her naivety, (which Cuddy secretly suspected to be carefully cultivated) made her a poor doctor.
And Cameron never gloated - she simply glowed with her own saintly humility, her angel round face and wide eyes and cupid’s bow lips saying everything that her voice never would. Cuddy’s skin crawled at that look, Cameron’s mouth turned up in a tiny smile that bordered on self-satisfaction. Her fingers itched to do anything to change that expression, to wipe it away and leave doubt and confusion in its wake. In her own way, Cameron was just as bad as House was.
The day Cuddy lost her patience and pressed Cameron against the door to her office, lips pressed against cupid’s bow lips, she finally got her wish.
