Kiss Kiss Fall In Love...

So, I've been watching Ouran High School Host Club. I just got caught up today. I have to say, I adore it. The theme song has been stuck in my head all day. I love the characters, I love the art, and the story is fun and absolutely adorable. It's been a while since a new anime grabbed me like this. I was getting into Bleach, but since it's being dubbed I've put watching it on hold and am waiting for that. I know this makes me a bad anime fan or whatever, but I do generally prefer watching things dubbed. As long as it's a good dub.

But yes, Ouran High School Host Club wins. Hell, I even like Honey and he's the type of character I generally don't like. I still want to call him Momiji, though. And Haruhi wins. Haruhi wins hardcore. Also? The twins set my little kinky heart a'flutter. Seriously! I died during the physical exam episode.

Anyone know where I can get the music for this series?

Now I need to go look for screencaps, to make an icon!

The reason you're getting Honey = Momiji flashbacks is probably also due to the fact that they have the same voice. XD Me, personally, I can't wait till they get to the episode(s?) with Haruhi's dad. XD

I have the opening full-length and its coupled song, but there's no word yet on the ending single (as far as I know). If you want 'em, IM me or something (I'm the same as I always was) and I can get 'em to you. ^^

Dude, I thought they sounded alike! But I suck at matching up voices. That would make sense. Gah, yes!

Oh, awesome! Next time I am on AIM, I shall ping you!

Oh yeah, not only do they sound alike -- they ARE alike. XD

And I'm on right now, though hidden. :D So feel free to IM me at any point tonight -- s'all good. :D

Wonder if I should look this up....

Finally got my hands on Bleach manga vol. 1 at Borders, skimmed it, thought it really cool...undoubtedly, part of the reason being that the main character--the Strawberry guy, I believe--reminded me of Greed, both in attitude and in some physical attributes.... XP I think I saw clips of the anime while my brother watched it with a friend; but yeah, he told me it's getting dubbed, and I think I'll wait for that too.... (REALLY hope they give Bleach the same treatment they gave FMA....)

P.S. Would you make me an icon, maybe? (I have the screencap on hand....)

It's a cute, fun, fluffy little series. Completely different than any other anime I like. Generally, the romantic comedy animes don't appeal to me, but this one does for some reason.

I haven't looked at the manga at all, but I saw 25 episodes of the series. It took me a while to get into it, but once I got past the heavy depressing stuff I was really getting into it. Considering Funimation is handling Bleach, so I imagine it'll be dubbed as well as FMA.

Sure, just send me the cap and tell me what you want on it. :D

Thanks! ^_______^

...It's a BtVS request, it's o.k. as long as I provide the image, right?

Well, here it is, from my photobucket account:

I've been wanting a Happy!Buffy icon....

Maybe, in small yet visible text...an FMA quote, "We loved to see her smile." from Ed & Al about Trisha. (I feel the same about Buffy; that, and there were those who tried to resurrect her like Trisha...although they were more successful....)

I KNEW you'd like Ouran High!!! I'm so glad you got into it! Haha, and yes Hunny is SO momiji. And Haruhi is actually Yuki, if you picked that up. ;) I always think the latest episode is the greatest one yet and then the next one comes out and I die all over again. and yes, I ADORE the twins. Sososo much!!!

Also, I have the opening and closing singles and instrumentals if you want them. ;)

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Everyone did. I just had to finally watch it! Really? I had not picked that up, actually! I know! It just keeps getting better and better! I love the twins. But I love Tamaki. And Kyouya.

I actually just grabbed the opening single! I do need the closing, though!

[identity profile] chaneystarr.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I love Mori. I don't even know why! But I got a soft spot for him from the beginning, haha. And so much Haruhi love. I love all of it!

Will send it to you next time I hop on a chat program, yes? Because I don't think I can email it to you. You don't have gmail do you?

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I love them all. They're just such an awesome ensemble cast!

Awesome, thank you!

[identity profile] chaneystarr.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
They really are. I bought the first two volumes of the manga, but I can't get into that as much as the anime, although there are some funny little sidenotes in it. But eee. So much love for it. YAY for the obsession spreading! ;)

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't even looked at the manga. Maybe I'll grab the first volume if I'm out and I see it. :D

[identity profile] ranchangrnl.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
The twins are love in Host Club! I keep wanting to call them Fred and George though. :p

[identity profile] ranchangrnl.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hikaru and Kaouru....but they'll always be Fred and George to me.

And it kills me how much they make fun of fangirls. The "homo side characters" line in episode two killed me.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs them*

I love the fangirl ribbing. So much. And I am so tempted to make an icon with the screencap of Tamaki with the pink bubble 'homo' letters floating behind him. *snerks*

[identity profile] ranchangrnl.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha! What gets me is, why no one thinks Tamaki is the "homo" since he clearly has a thing for Haruhi.

I keep waiting for that to be flung around.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! You'd think people would start wondering... :D

[identity profile] momoiro-usagi.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, Momiji! He was my first true anime character obsession! ;) I've never heard of Ouran...but if he's like Momiji, I'd probably like him! ^^

I have mixed feelings about dubs...I used to watch the dub all the time, especially for Fruits Basket and Gravitation...but the FMA dub kind of bothers me...it's not like I'm a hardcore "all otakus must watch only the Japanese" type of person, because I like Gravitation and a few other animes much better in English... >.<' to me, the only thing that's important is good casting!

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I have never been a big Momiji fan. But Hunny is essentially Momiji. It's the same voice actor and everything.

I love the FMA dub, personally. I thought all the voices were perfect, save for Envy's. And by the end of the series, the voice actor had really masculinized her voice enough to get actual androgeny across. I've been watching the Furuba dub and have been enjoying it. I just prefer them because I get more out of them when I'm not trying to read and watch at the same time. :D

[identity profile] momoiro-usagi.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I enjoyed the furuba dub very much....the only English voice I don't like is Momiji's, actually! ;)

hmmm....I think most of the fma characters' voices are cast really well....the only problem is, the three voices I don't like are those of the three main characters! :p Vic is a great actor, and by the end of the series his voice fits so well, but in the beginning he sounded too old for Ed, and that kind of bothered me....maybe because I'm just so in love with Romi Park's voice...and as far as Al's voice and Roy's voice...the acting could be better. But I totally forgive Al's v.a., because he's so young and cute! ^^

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't gotten to Momiji's english voice yet!

I didn't think he sounded too old for Ed in the beginning, but I don't have that great an ear for voices. Aw, I didn't have problems with Travis' acting as Roy. I thought he was pretty awesome, honestly. And I am super impressed with Al's VA, because he is so young, and FMA is such an intense and draining series to work on.

[identity profile] momoiro-usagi.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm, the problem I had with Vic's voice might be because the only dubbed episode I've seen all the way through is episode 3...and he sounded like he was going through puberty at age 6! O.O I think they should've used a girl, at least for that episode...

...but for some reason American dub companies seem to have a big problem finding women who can play boys. Other American cartoons, like Rugrats, use women, but for some reason in anime it never quite works as well as it does in Japan. -.- The biggest problem with Momiji's English voice is that it so obviously belongs to a woman, which is really why I dislike Envy and Wrath in the dub, as well.

But sometimes I'm glad to see the dub using men to do the voices more often than women. In Japan, so many guy parts are played by women, and sometimes it doesn't sound right! For instance, I like Yuki Sohma's English voice better than his Japanese voice because he doesn't sound so much like a girl...he's feminine, but not TOO feminine!

I do feel bad for the English v.a.'s, though, because so many fans hate them so much. :/ The thing some people need to understand is that in Japan, anime is the chief source of entertainment, much like some of the really famous sitcoms on TV in America, so naturally they get first quality actors! But many famous actors in America won't do anime, unless it's being distributed by Disney!
