Night Pains, Hughes and Stephen King

So last night I was again kept up by horrific nocturnal leg cramps. I was up at about 2 in the morning, hobbling around my room, trying to ease them some. This would be why I woke up and thought that it had to be around 9 and it was in fact 10:30. I'm failing with the sleeping thing lately.

I got my Hughes Ficathon assignment. Not the one I was hoping for, but still some really awesome stuff to work with. And I can only use pre-episode 25 stuff, that was stressed. But it led me to an interesting conclusion last night about another small detail in the FMA movie that I don't even know if I'm remembering right. But if I am, the movie has earned one more tiny point from me.

I've been reading Stephen King's 'On Writing', and I've really been enjoying it. I really do love how that man writes, I always have. Whether he's writing fiction or non-fiction, there's something about the way that he uses words that grabs me. He is one of the few authors that I would actually like to meet.

I've been getting a ton of compliments on my new default icon. I am very happy I went with this layout.

On Writing is one of my favorite "about writing" books. It's good, practical stuff, without getting preachy about it.

Owies, leg cramps! I used to get those a lot when I played basketball. Daggone things hurt! I hope you're feeling better now!

Hughes ficathon? Aw, you're lucky! Are you allowed to tell about your assignment, or is it top secret? ^_^ Either way, I'm sure you'll come up with something great! And having Hughes in the movie was a nice gesture that the anime people did for us - props for them!

Stephen King is a great author, I hear, but I'm so lazy - I haven't read any of his stuff. Dun impale me! O.O I'll probably read some of his work soon, since I'm eager to look into new styles of various writers all over. He'd be ideal to not necessarily model after, but more so to maybe help me mold the style I really want.

Dude, your default icon is 'teh awesomeness! Dante is creepy, but she is cool! ^_^

Hope you're having a wonderful start to the week! *huggles and gives Fey smiley face cookies*

Leg cramps. :( *hugs* I hope you're feeling better. Not sleeping sucks. I had a less natural cause - a cat in heat. Because uh.. she definitely is. Damn. XD

It's strange how I like scary stuff, yet I never think a book could scare me. So I don't read scary books. I've heard a lot about Stephen King though, of course. I might have read one or two of his books, I'm not sure. Could you maybe recommend me one that is perhaps more scary than others? Or is that a dumb question?

..I'm really out of it today. Yet I must go find a place in town I've never been to before. Stupid UPS. *hugs and kisses* Hope you are doing well.

Ouch on the cramps. ;_; Leg cramps are one of the worst, though I suppose other cramps last longer...

I like Stephen King; I know there's some stick-your-nose-in-the-air thing that some think of him, but I like it. Being popular doesn't mean it's bad. =) I just ordered Cell and I'm receiving it today. Yay!

Sounds interesting. Have you ever read Danse Macabre by Stephen King? It basically disects the genre of horror movies and stories and was written a while ago, but when he writes in first person, he writes in a really intimate, engaging way. I loved his rant on people who "cheat" and go to the last page of the book. Highly recommend it.

Yeah. My assignment was sort of lame, but now I've figured out a really rockin' idea for it, so all is well.

Sorry to hear about the leg pain. I hope you're doing better.

I want to know about this movie detail!
