Omigod. So, mikazuki posted the last of her fandom Xmas gifts today, and I finally saw mine. I'm reposting it here because some of the artist's commentary is spoilery, but this had to be shared. Something like this can't go without as much recognition as possible. Plus you know, it's gorgeous art. I am... I can't even go into words at how touched and amazed and happy I am right now. I don't have the words or icon to fully express my sheer joy right now.

mikazuki drew me what I suppose is my favorite FMA pairing. Yes, I am having a total silly fangirl moment right now, but I don't care. I am beyond happy right now. Behold:

It took me a few minutes. Mainly I was thinking 'holy crap, I have to show Lenna as soon as she comes home...waitaminute she can't read the little blurb'. Then I realized there are a couple of other people on my friends list who aren't that far in, either. *wills the DVDs to come out faster*

The characters are so deep and layered and real and the storyline is so massive and intense and just amazing that it's easy to forget that it's anime. I've seen few series' on the same level as FMA.
