Summary: Narcissa gets her first look at muggles and muggle borns.

There were so many muggles at the train station! Narcissa Black, aged eleven, cringed away from anyone not dressed in wizarding clothing. She knew all about muggles, her granny had told her everything. She knew that they were all diseased, and that it was only a horrible curse of nature that they were even able to walk upright and understand intelligent speech. She knew they were filthy and an insult to purebloods everywhere. And she certainly wasn’t about to risk getting sick from one of them!
She was ashamed to see her loud and boorish cousin Sirius staring openly at them. She wouldn’t be at all surprised if Auntie slapped him for that. Gawking at muggles, how crude!
Of course, it wouldn’t even be a problem if muggles could stay in their place. They had their own world, why did they have to butt in on the wizarding one? It wasn’t like Squibs were shunted off to the muggle world! Just because they didn’t do magic didn’t mean they weren’t purebloods. They were just horrible defective ones, who needed to be kept away from proper society. But they stayed where they belonged.
“Now listen, Cissy,” her father was saying, holding tightly to her hand. “You stay away from the wrong sort, you hear?”
“Yes, Daddy.”
“Stay away from the poor students. We don’t need them being a bad influence on you. Stay away from the ones that come from mixed families. And most of all, stay away from the mudbloods!”
“Of course, Daddy.” Honestly, he didn’t even need to tell her that! Why would she go anywhere near anything that came out of a muggle?
“Good girl. Now… Merlin’s balls!”
Narcissa tried not to giggle. Her father could be so plebian when he swore! She looked over to see what her father was cursing at now and saw a red-haired girl in muggle garments heading their way. Oh, ick! The petite blond girl allowed herself to be hauled away by her father, watching the mudblood girl approach the train. She was tall with red hair and green eyes and that pale complexion that some girls had. Not milky, Narcissa preened a bit, like she was.
As she was bundled onto the train with a final kiss from her father, Narcissa found herself looking at the red head mudblood once more. Other than the horrible clothes - what girl wore a skirt that came above her ankles? - and the muggle satchel, she looked just anyone else.
