Wow, That Was a Big Project!
Holy crap, it's three o'clock almost!
My day was eaten by A Project. I wanted to gather up my fic in one place. Not all of it, because there is too much and it's too far flung across the net, but the stuff I'm proud of and the stuff that I really enjoy. So I finally made a fic journal -
fics_by_fey - to put all of my fics on. I spent most of today re-posting a whole crapload of fics over there. I went through my journal and found fics I don't even remember writing. I found one 3000+ word Sirius/Remus fic that didn't even have a title or summary, it was just slapped up sloppily in my journal. Now it's properly titled and labeled over in my fic journal. I am a horrible person when it comes to using the memories feature. Now I don't have to worry about slogging through over two years worth of entries and trying to pick out a fic. I've done it, too, and it isn't fun. And I am too lazy to handle a website, as I have proven many times.
I am still posting all my fic here, but it'll be reposted over there as well just so I can keep track of it. There is no need to friend it.
Which brings me to another point. When discussing fan fiction and NaNoWriMo in comments somewhere with someone who did not know me well, I was offered this little gem of advice: 'if you'd put as much effort into original work as you do fan fiction....'. It irked me a bit, because who's to say that I don't? How does someone who knows of me only through fandom know what I do and don't do with the rest of my time? Or how much I put into it? There are only a handful of people who I actually discuss/show my original work with/to. But I put far more effort into it than I do into fan fiction. Just because I'm not doing NaNo doesn't mean I don't write original. I just don't have the time for NaNo, with work and RL and ficathons.
Now I'm going to see about food, because I'm starving.
