Fanfic100

I just wanted to give a little shout out to everyone on my Flist who's doing the [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 thing. I wish you all tons of luck, and I look forward to reading what comes of this. :D

ETA: No, LJ, my password is not easy to guess. It isn't a real word, it isn't a combination of real words, it is random and bizarre and if anyone actually did guess it from scratch, I would give them a cookie.

Yeah, the LJ thing is pissing me off. My password isn't even a word, and no part of it is a dictionary word, so wtf?

I hate adding in numbers and symbols because it's yet another thing to remember. I notice in the thread above someone was like 'gee, is it that hard to remember to add a number in' ... well, when you end up with 10 zillion passwords to suit the requirements of each site that you have to sign up for... yeah. It's easier to remember 'on this kind of site, I use x password'.

That pissed me off, too! I've been using the same password here for over to years. Yes, it's going to be difficult to remember it with numbers added to it.

My password is along the lines of something like 'smakkityphop'. It's complete gibberish! But apparently, adding a number at the beginning and end makes it all okay. WTF?

Yeah, exactly! I suppose if you went through with some program, it would eventually be able to guess the almost random letters and crack it... but why would someone want to for my little ole journal? It's not like I keep bank account info or hell, even my real name in private entries for people to get at.

And I have trouble believing hackers/crackers wouldn't just start adding "1" to the end of their guesses or programs since that's probably the most common number that's going to be used (2nd most common? the year?). Oh yeah, that'll get 'em.
