These Things Should Happen on Mondays

So, I occasionally read those online horoscope thingies for kicks. Yesterday told me that today, my trails would start early in the morning. This morning I wake up around 4:30 and need to use the bathroom. I'm half asleep, I only turn the nightlight on. Lo and behold, the toilet was plugged up and I didn't notice it. Flushing + Plugged Up Toilet = Fey's Bathroom Flooded. It's 4:30 and no one is awake, and we don't have a plunger in this bathroom. I'm pulling down towels to sop up the floor and desperately trying to find a plunger. Bear in mind this is 4:30 in the morning and I was doped up all of yesterday. The search for a plunger fails and I am in need of still more towels to dry the floor.

Now I am faced with a quandary. My folks are up at 6:00 usually and my sister a half hour or so after that. But it's almost 5, and I can't just leave the toilet with water up to its brim. So I stumble back into my room - literally - and dig out paper. I write a note and intend to tape it to the bathroom door. I can't find any tape. I'm in tears at this point because I don't want anyone coming into the bathroom and making the same mistake I did and I can't think how to stick the note to the door. It takes me about fifteen minutes to grasp the idea of just leaving the note on the toilet. I'm not all that bright in the morning.

Luckily I was still awake in my bed when people got up, and I was able to rush out and warn them, and get the plunger from my parents bathroom to fix the problem before anyone used the bathroom. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day in bed.

Irk, that toilet is such a pain in the ass.

I'm spending it in bed, seriously. On vicaden again, wheee!

Yeah, it is. It was fine all summer, with just one person... I guess two people's worth of 'traffic' is just a bit too much for it sometimes. *Headdesk*

Irk. Weather change getting on you?

Obviously, its raised platform is overcompensation for it's lack of pipe strength. *nods*

Oh hells yes! I had to leave work yesterday because of it, everything seized up on me and I could hardly walk. I was hobbling around here on my cane like I was over the winter up in Seattle. We are having an unusually wet and cold spell. On the plus side, I've gotten up a tolerance to where I can be perfectly coherent and functioning on vicaden.

One of these days, I will get to the point where no medicine works on me any longer.

I'm pretty sure the screwy pipeline is part of the problem, honestly - what with having to run the pipes in funny directions and all, that probbly explains why it backs up more than usual.

One of these days, I will get to the point where no medicine works on me any longer.

That's exactly what I thought of when you said you can function well on it, now. That's dangerous, there - you don't want to not use it when you need it, but you don't want to get used to it so it's not effective when you really need it.

I wouldn't be surprised.

I hate having such a high tolerance for medication. I knew it was high when three IVs worth of morphine still weren't getting rid of my pain when I first broke my back. At least the roboxin doesn't seem to be losing any of its potency. I only take it when I'm flat out and can't move, and at least that doesn't happen very often down here.
