Tipsy Fan Fic Theater!
So, I had a few drinks and was given some fic prompts, and so this is what came of it.
Title: I Though You'd Done Everything, Haruka!
Pairing: Haruka/Kantarou
Summary: Youko has to do all the work. And while she's out, Kantarou and Haruka get up to a little something special.
Rating: PG-13
Kantarou was a slob. He never picked up after himself it seemed, leaving dirty dishes and general clutter everywhere. And who cleaned it up? Not Kantarou, obviously. And not Haruka, either. No, Haruka got to laze about and go get food with Kantarou whenever Kantarou wanted . It was Youko who had to do all of the cleaning. And the cooking. And more cleaning. She did everything around the house, or so it seemed.
These thoughts were running through her mind as she hauled the large basket full of laundry round the back of the house, in preparation of hanging it to dry. She’d like to see Haruka or Kantarou do the laundry for once!
Mumbling to herself, Youko began to hang the laundry. She frowned as she heard Kantarou and Haruka inside, most likely having the time of their lives inside while she was out doing all of the work. She shook her head, intending to ignore them. But she heard her name, and all of a sudden she was all ears.
“Youko’s not here?” Kantarou sounded both curious and excited. She couldn’t hear Haruka’s reply, but the noise of joy that Kantarou made was all she needed. What were they up to? Frowning, Youko turned her attention away from the laundry and after a quick look around, transformed. If they were talking to her, she wanted to know what they were saying! Making sure to be quiet, Youko crept under the window, to listen better.
“Okay, good. We can’t do it if she’s home.”
Can’t do what? Youko looked up, curious. They were doing something without her?
“Alright, Haruka!” Kantarou continued. “Take it off and be quick about it!”
Take it…off? Youko’s ears swung forward, and she wished that she was tall enough to look in the window. Maybe if she stood on her tip toes? Why did Kantarou want Haruka to take off anything? And, more importantly, what did he want Haruka to take off?
“It’s off,” Haruka said, not sounding quite as enthused as Haruka. “Now what?”
“You’ve never done this before?” Kantarou laughed, and Youko’s eyes widened. Done? What were they doing? Kantarou‘s voice had a light and teasing tone. “I thought you’d done everything.”
“I haven’t done this,” Haruka said, flatly. Done what?
“Not to worry! I’ve done it before, so just let me do all the work!”
Work? Kantarou didn’t do any work. Youko shifted, straining at the window. Something very, very strange was going on. Something Youko was sure couldn’t really be going on.
“Okay, now you hold it, Haruka, and I’ll get to work on it! Keep it steady, okay?”
Keep what steady? Youko scrabbled at the wall beneath the window, trying desperately to see inside. Surely her imagination was running away with her.
“See, Haruka, it’s easy. In and out, in and out… ow! Haruka! I told you to hold it steady! You can’t let is slip like that.”
“Sorry.” Haruka didn’t sound sorry! Youko propped herself up on her back legs and tried to jump at the window, but only the tips of her ears made it over the ledge. She was imagining things! Hallucinating! Yes, that was it! Just hallucinating! She tried to climb the wall, to no avail. She managed to hook her paws on the window sill for just a moment….
“Much better Haruka. Just hold it. Almost there…almost there…just…a…few…more…ah! YES!”
Youko, paws scrabbling at window, lost her balance and fell backwards, blinking wildly at the looming window. She still hadn’t gotten a good look inside, but at this point she was beyond being polite. Popping quickly back into human form, Youko ran in a very undignified manner back into the house.
“What is going on?” she demanded, out of breath and leaning with one arm against the doorway. It was only then that she noticed the scene inside the room. Haruka was standing in his shirtsleeves, and Kantarou was proudly holding Haruka’s jacket. On the table between them was a sewing kit.
“Youko!” Kantarou was practically beaming. “Look!” He pointed forcefully at an unevenly stitched seem on the sleeve of Haruka’s jacket. “I did it! So you don’t have to! I wanted it to be a surprise….”
“He can’t sew very well,” Haruka said.
“You….stitched up a jacket?” Youko’s face fell, and she slumped in the doorway. Stitching a jacket. They’d been stitching a jacket. Badly. “I need to finish the laundry. And I‘ll fix this right later!” She snatched the jacket out of Kantarou’s hands, without waiting for him to protest. A jacket. All that fuss over stitching up a jacket!
Youko turned and stalked back outside, leaving behind a bewildered looking Kantarou and a disgruntled looking Haruka.
