Howl's Moving Castle

Watched Howl's Moving Castle last night. Beautiful, beautiful movie. Very classic Miyazaki, with whimsical touches in even the darkest parts. [livejournal.com profile] ratzeo suggested reading the book, and I plan to. The story was the sort I'm a sucker for, and the art - as I probably don't need to say - is breathtaking. I enjoyed it far more than Princess Mononoke.

I think I'm going to pop down to the video store and rent some more movies. I still do need to see Spirited Away, and I know that [livejournal.com profile] nekokoban wanted to see it again, so maybe I'll grab it.

I wasn't able to get in another entry for the [livejournal.com profile] lupin_snape April Shower's Challenge. But with 15 entries, I think I made a pretty good showing.

This week's [livejournal.com profile] wormtail100 challenge is: Peter's First Transformation.

I think I'll give Devil May Cry 2 another go today. I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying those games. But how can you not like Dante? He's like a modern day cop/detective, but he only handles supernatural things. He moves like a kick-boxing ninja, he's got a kick ass sword, kick ass guns, wears a long leather coat and drives a motorcycle. He is the perfect video game action hero.

Alright. Away from the computer!

Spirited Away is *beautiful*. If you like Miyazaki's work, you'll love it. It's a masterpiece, and deserved its Oscar.

And as for the April Showers Challenge...you were one of the top three in terms of word count from what I could see, and I'm pretty sure you wrote more individual stories than everyone else. Pretty please keep going on the WiP you started? I'd love to see what happens next. You did a great job, and I only wish I had your speed.

That's what I've heard. Looks like everyone else has the same idea, as they were out at the video store!

I am definitely going to finish my WIP. I'm about halfway done with the next part, RL has just been keeping me from giving it the attention I feel it deserves. I've got a lot invested in this one, and plan on seeing it through to the end.

That's one of the few of Miyazaki's I haven't seen yet, but must soon. *nod* I haven't seen a movie of his I haven't liked yet, although Princess Mononoke was up there @ 'meeeeep'. :)

Funniest, hands down, was My Neighbour Totoro. I want a chibi totoro (http://www.buta-connection.net/critiques-dvdanime/dvdanime-images/toto_mini.jpeg) *giggle* Any of his you haven't seen yet, I recommend. (And YES @ Spirited Away)!

I think it's coming to theatres all over soon. It really is a beautiful piece. Parts of Mononoke bothered me.

That's another one I have to see.
