I can't believe Easter is in two days. I got egg colouring materials today, and tomorrow will be spent colouring eggs. Sunday will be baking ham. It isn't Easter without a ham dinner.

I've heard other authors mention this same thing, and I'm wondering how widespread it is. How many of you feel like the pieces you're most proud of get the least reaction? I was doing a bit of organizing and uploading and thinking on that earlier. The fics I'm the most proud of/feel are my best work seem to get the least reaction/feedback.

It sounds like I'm going to be guilted into going to Easter dinner with my dad's family, unfortunately. Not like I don't like seeing them, but I'd really rather stay home on my last night before finals... I don't know.

On the other hand, considering I begged out of Thanksgiving already this year and didn't see much of them at Christmas, I'll probably end up caving on this one. *Sighs* I will definitely be home for the eggs, though.

Oh, alright then. Well, maybe we won't be having a ham dinner then, since it would just be three of us.

Psh, do it anyway! It's not like the leftovers won't get eaten. I'm not for sure about it, anyway - my dad's calling me late Sunday morning for my final decision.

Didn't you have your finals BEFORE the break?

You know, I've noticed that about my fic. Granted, the stuff I'm most proud of is some of the weirder stuff I've written, but still. It is a little disappointing to thing you've finally just gotten something, and then get no reaction to it.

Strange. That, or the fics we think are our best are ones that we have some sort of personal connection to, and without that connection they don't resonate quite as well?

Hm. Food for thought, I suppose.
