Icon Meme

I love looking at people's icons, but I don't always *get* them - I often wonder stuff like, "Who's that guy?" or "Where's that quote from?" but I tend not to ask, for various reasons. So come on, here are my icons. Pick one (or more!) you're curious about, and I'll try to explain it. Or at least explain what I like about it.

In other news, it is so warm out that my vinyl pants are now plastered to my body.

Character from a series of books I adore, The Halfblood Chronicles. Valyn Hernalth is my favorite character. The series gets so little attention, which is sad. I'll admit that the writing isn't the greatest (two authors with vastly different styles teamed up) but the world and the characters are the story are all great.

One of my favorite shows is 'Highlander'. Jim Byrnes plays the character Joe Dawson, who's part of a society called 'The Watchers'. I found that awesome pic of Jim Byrnes and just had to use it, and thought the text from the famous Police song was more than appropriate. :-D

The sinners features Peter Wingfield and Valentine Pelka, the same two who are in my 'monsters' and 'ride on' icons. Both from highlander. The Bella icon is a scandanavian model named Nora something, and the default icon is Mary from Kingdom Hospital. I don't the actress' name off hand.

Yup, those are definitely the Pink Floyd lyrics. It's a pic of Remus Lupin, by one of my favorite artists ([livejournal.com profile] krummi). I always associate both Remus and Severus with Pink Floyd, for some reason, and I have a whole series of icons of her art with PF lyrics.

They both come from Severus/Remus dojinshi scans. The wubbles one got it's name because of the cutesy style of the art, and the greatest love one is from the inside cover page.

I didn't, actually, a friend of mine got it off of Ebay and posted some scans and was kind enough to let me use them for icons. The only dojinshi I own was a gift, and I haven't had a chance to scan the images I want and make icons.
