Must wake up and do errands. Must wake up and do errands. Must wake up and do errands.

I hate realizing how dependant I am on things. At the moment, it's caffeine for waking up. I'm off of it again, and I'm having trouble getting up and staying up. I need to get everything set for my trip on Monday, and swing by the computer place. Luckily everything's pretty much in the same area.

I'm being devoured by plot bunnies and with little inclination to write. I've been sparked for [livejournal.com profile] violet_quill's challenge, for this month's [livejournal.com profile] andropotterist challenge, and I've got a bunny brewing over from last night's talk with [livejournal.com profile] nakia_winere.

And now, on to a small rant.

All I've been seeing lately are various complaints about how it's impossible to 'get read' in the HP fandom. Which I don't understand at all, what with the plethora of participants and communities. In a fandom where there's a community for practically everything, I can't see any reason for not getting read other than not putting out work, or not putting out work worth reading. You want your stuff read? Join some communities, accept and listen to con-crit if it's offered, and you really shouldn't have that much of a problem.

And now I really will get off my ass and do my errands.

Erands are no fun.

But I agree, if you do not put your work up, you won't get reads. Harry Potter has one of the biggest audiences.

Word on both. As soon as I started writing I joined a couple of communities, posted my stuff, and voila! I somehow attracted a following. *gulps*

It's not that difficult at all. And despite the horrible reputation HP fandom has, I've encountered a lot more nice and helpful folks than not. I owe the improvements in my writing over the years heavily to the con-crit I've gotten in fandom. And I've seen the same with a lot of other writers.
