(no subject)

I've been noticing that lately, my fic ideas and inspiration have come in the form of het and femmeslash. I know that the majority of my friendslist are m/m slashers, so that leaves me wondering: is it worth it to post my femmeslash and het pieces here, in my own journal, or should I just post them in the appropriate communities? So, a poll for my Flist:

[Poll #417944]

I would just like to point out, that while I chose the first option, it is only because I have been reading that - and perfer it - most, and you said 'mainly'.

I will however, read just about anything. Or I will try it. Some things don't agree with me.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
That's pretty much what I was asking, yeah. For the most part, specifics nonwithstanding, what people prefer.

That's the way I look at it, for reading. And writing, really. I'll give anything a try.

[identity profile] suyari.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
You're much braver than me there. Generally, my writing isn't as expansive as my thinking. I may have to remedy that.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
My biggest thing is I can't back down from a challenge. So due to FQF and fic exchanges, I've ended up writing some things I'd never write. Like the Severus/Harry/Remus BDSM fic with gratuitous piercings and dirty talk.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
That was a damn good piece, too.

[identity profile] suyari.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Haha! I don't doubt it!

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmm, smut. I've been feeling very un-smutty lately, for some reason.

[identity profile] suyari.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's in the water...It has to be, too many of us are feeling that way.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Blargh. Silly non-smutness. I'd like to work a scene into the fic I'm working on now.

[identity profile] suyari.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! New fic!

....wait, it's not SS/Rl is it?

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
It's actually Hermione/Ginny. And I do have a SS/DM that I've been working on as a gift for a friend.

Ooooooooooooo...............

Hey, just wanted to say hi. Friended you b/c you sound interesting, and you're a Snupin fan. I need more Snupin supporters. Plus I love random people and doing random things like friending people out of the blue. I did read your whole profile and a few of your posts, so I think I know what I'm getting myself into. ;) Feel free to friend me back or not.

Voted on your pole too: Slash and Femslash, though as the above person said, I'll read just about anything if the pairing sounds interesting.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! Welcome to the nuthouse. ;-) I'm a huge Snupin fan. I'm working on a new Snupin fic actually (along with a Hermione/Ginny fic that's eating my brain.) I love meeting new people, so I will definately friend you back!

Het=Evil.

Ahem.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
I've actually run into a lot of people who don't like het. It's not my favorite, but depending on the characters, I like it sometimes.

[identity profile] anathdemalfoy.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
I put m/m slash and femmeslash, because that's mainly what I prefer to read and write. And I ADORE your m/m and f/f. By now it's a well-known fandom fact that het's a squick of mine - but actually I've found out through time that it's really female-submissive het that squicks me (and I don't really like the idea of Tonks in a het pairing for some reason - I prefer her in femmeslash. I can conceive of her as bi, but not entirely straight - go figure). I'd actually read more het if there were more bitch-goddess dominatrixes in fanfic... hee. I'd even write some if I got the right plotbunny (whoops, did I just say that lol? ;) )

*hugs* I do hope you write more femmeslash in particular. The fandom needs more f/f, and I love your girlslash! *worships it*

Love & Serpents' Kisses,
Anath.

I'm not a large fan of submissive females in het, either. The one smutty het peice I can call to mind was Narcissa/Arthur, an Narcissa was the dominant one. To the point were I had to put a dubious consent warning on the fic. If I ever wrote Bellatrix het (which is all I would write, I see her as staight) she would most definitely be the dominant.

I agree about needing more femmeslash. I'm working on a Hermione/Ginny at the moment, that I hope to have done by next week.

Hiya - I've been lurking on your journal for a while now (mostly for the Snupin) and have now friended you just to have an excuse to vote in your poll. I hope you don't mind. ;-)

I voted m/m and het, but that's because I'm very character- and pairing-oriented and haven't found a f/f pairing that's right for me yet. I do read femslash occasionally, though.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello! *waves hello* Don't mind at all, I love new friends!

That's how I was for a long time, with femmeslash. Very few HP female characters held much interest for me. But I've been exploring and experimenting since the fifth book.

[identity profile] pinkwafer.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I cheated and clicked "M/M only" and "all of the above" because I mainly read M/M, but occasionally delve into other areas if I'm in the mood. The majority of femme and het doesn't interest me though. :)

[identity profile] scoradh.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you should post your femmeslash here!

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I've got a Hermione/Ginny in the works that I'll definetely be posting here!

[identity profile] musigneus.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Post 'em! Maybe we'll read something new :).
