Pissier and Pisser....
LJ wouldn't let me sign in to my account for the longest time. The database has been 'temporarily down' for the past three hours.
Because I am a huge geek, I went and tracked down a copy of The Herodotus File. I've wanted this graphic novel since I learned of its existence, and was overjoyed to find a copy. It's hard to get ahold of these days, it's old and out of print.
The first hindrance was that, for some reason, the address for the apartment was apparently not a real address. Every other bit of mail got there okay. So I get an email from Amazon regarding that, and give them my current address. Get a confirmation number, a tracking number, and the promise that the GN is on its way to me!
Wonderful. I'm happy again. I'm laying in bed when I hear someone on the porch and the dog barking half-heartedly. Checking the time, I gather that it's the mailman. I figure I'll check the mail when I get up. I wander out and see a package on the steps of the porch. The bit of the porch that isn't protected from the massive amounts of rain we've been getting all day. It's a thin cardboard package. That is completely soaked through. It's also my Herodotus File.
I've got it spread out over the vent to dry, and the ink hasn't seemed to run too badly. The laminated cover kept off most of the damage, but suffered wrinkling and some blurring at the top edges. So much for 'mint condition'.
At least there's the holiday festivities to look forward to tonight.

At least it's not hurt badly. It can join my water-damaged copy of the Fellowship of the Ring art book that got messed up by that water leak we had last year. *Shakes fist at things that destroy books with water*

But anyways - this Thursday, I have to bring my car in to the shop. Friday, I'm shopping with my mom, and I'm shopping Saturday (I SWEAR this all happened coincidentally) with two fandom friends.
-_-
But next week is finals, and I only have one since two of my professors is holding exams this week. I'm free all Monday or Tuesday; and Wednesday, after 12. Thursday before 6. And after that, two weeks of vacation!
Plus, me and my friend might be hosting a holiday part on Sunday, Dec. 19. It's in the Udistrict, so you could come! Lots of strangers smoozing together. XD

I'm busy next Wens, actually, but next Tuesday should be good! I'd love to hit the pary, but I'm leaving to visit my folks the next day, and my sister's going to be up here.
Yay! Vacation! I'm actually not going to be here for most of it. I'm visiting the folks from the 20 to the 27.
