School of Rock Review
So last night, after an amazing night at IB/ADV, I got myself a bowl of ice cream and settled in for my Nightly Movie. Which was 'School of Rock'.
Holy fuck, was that an awesome movie.
Now, I know the main reason I liked it so much is because I am a classic rock junkie. The Stones, Led Zepplin, The Doors, The Who, Joan Jett, Pink Floyd...I hate most modern music, to be honest. It grates on me and it just seems devoid of any meaning or feeling. I know a lot of people disagree with me, and that's fine.
I have my special playlist, for when I'm pissed or depressed or whatever. And it's all classic rock, except for a cover of a Willy Wonka song and 'Right Now'. It just puts me in this certain mindframe, in this certain mood. And it makes me happy. I may not be able to jump around to it or dance to it anymore, but it doesn't matter. There's something in the music. Anyway, back to the movie.
The acting was amazing. I love Jack Black anyway, I think he's an amazing actor. He has this charm and appeal that's undeniable. The man is a complete spaz, and it's wonderful.
There was a large child-based cast, but the kids were great. I was blown away by the talent there. Joan Cusack was perfect, I love her. She's another brilliant comic actor, and watching her and Jack Black together was really great.
I'm not going to sit here and say it was a deep or meaningful movie, but it made me feel good. And that, in my opinion, is what a good movie is all about. so I highly recommend it.
Seeing Spiderman 2 with
lennaofmidearth today. I'll give my opinions on that when I return.
I had this dream about Gackt!Voldemort. He was in this old dusty and empty warehouse, and he was wearing an old fachioned tux with tails and a tophat. He had an opera cane, too, and spats and the whole deal. There was some other stuff going on, but suddenly he started doing this weird soft shoe routine and singing 'Pure Imagination' from Willy Wonka. He was rolling his tophat over his shoulders and everything. It was very, very odd.

Also, that dream sounds scary.

It was.

Cool dream and more fodder for the idea that Tom Riddle was a failed star of some sort and thus had to turn to Dark Wizardry.

Tom Riddle, musical star of stage and screen! fired for having the nasty habit of crucio'ing directors that he felt were stepping on his creativity. ;-)
