Moo?

So I finally get around to checking my email. Yahoo is completely different and it's very early. But I three days ago my inbox was 90% full, and now it's 3% full. And I still have all my messages, plus 47 new ones. I am not going to question the fact that my inbox now has the capacity of a paid yahoo account. The only drawback seems to be yahoo is now remarkably slow.

Bittorent is my best friend. Except when the connection point changes and I don't realize it for an hour or in one extreme case six hours. I really need to see if my burner works now.

I got started on my Sleeping Refuge fic. And oddly enough, it's Harry/Ron. It mapped itself out in my mind last night, now I just have to write it. It's post Hogwarts, post defeat of Voldemort. Not something I usually work with, at least where it's an actual plot point.

And....results from the smut poll. It seems the majority of people enjoy a mix of smut, and hate the word 'cum'.

I do plan on doing the fandom meme, and the favorite fic meme, when I get around to them.

Same thing happened to mine. A little disconcerting, to tell you the truth. But nice.

Yahoo's increased the size of all the free mailboxes to 100 MB. This is a direct response to Google's GMail, which has 1 gig of storage, but which puts obnoxious ads in every message (and which had privacy groups up in arms because of plans to SCAN THE CONTENTS of every email message, supposedly so they could put in ads that were "relevant" to the email.

I don't know whether GMail ended up dropping their plans to scan emails or not. At least Yahoo hasn't even attempted that particular brand of bastardry.

I didn't even know Google offered email. O.o

I'd hope they dropped it. I know I wouldn't stick with any service that scanned my email. :/

"Invitations" for Gmail just started going out yesterday I believe. I don't know whether they've opened up to the Madding Crowd just yet, but if not they very soon will.

::shudders:: Thank god they haven't done that. Privacy is hard enough to get these days without that intrusive step.

I'm just worried that if I had problems cleaning out my inbox before, they'll get worse again. Never will be cleaned out again. Ever.

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2004-06-15 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't seem to be capable of deleting things, anyway....

I know. While I appreciate the greatly-expanded storage, the interruptions and page loading difficulties are annoying in the extreme.

Turns out that was because of a server hacker. :/ It should be all fixed now.

Love the new Yahoo mail! I have a ton of stuff to store, and now I can dump my crappy Hotmail account altogether!

I'm never going to clean out my inbox again....

Harry/Ron! Yay!

Hmmm, perhaps I should get me a yahoo account...oh wait, I think I have one. Perhaps I should use my yahoo account.

Yes, Harry/Ron. See, I dabble in pairings other than Remus/Severus. ;-)

100 MB!

I know, isn't it loverly? From 52% last night to 2% this morning. God bless competative email providers!

I am still amazed! Always nice when they get into battle and we benefit.

Icons and bittorent

Hi! Just stopped by to look at your icons, I love them, especially the one that has 'lick' and 'the greatest love'. Where did you get the pics? I visit lots of Japanese anime sites for ss/rl pics but I've never seen these. The 'lick' one might be remmy and sirius, because of the short hair. Also, is bittorent hard to use, and are you suseptable to viruses? I use kazaa but havn't gotten the real Poa yet. Sorry for the long post, but was curious, thanks!

Hi! Thank you for the kind words on my icons.

Those two are from a doujinshi a friend of mine scanned, the name's in German. They're both SS/RL. I'm not sure if she still has the scans up, but I can check. :-)

Bittorent is simple to use, and has no risk of addware/spyware, and very minimal risk of virus'. No more or less than getting a corupt file off of kazaa lite.
