Same Venture Time, Same Venture Channel....

I crashed early and hard last night! And since today is Sunday, I actually slept in a little. I woke up at seven, but I dozed for another two hours or so.

We watched The Orphan yesterday. Holy shit, good movie. Intense and disturbing and heart wrenching, but such a good movie. It had me in tears at a few points. And the big twist? Beautifully done, and seriously does explain everything. I like that in my horror.

So, since it's Sunday (also known as Venture Day!) I've been browsing VB forums. And I was surprised to discover an apparently popular theory regarding Dermott. One I can't get behind at all.



The theory is that Dermott is actually Brock's nephew, on account of the fact that it was once mentioned in a throwaway line in season 1 that Brock had a brother.

I know Publick and Doc really like to tie things together and whatnot, but I think here the simplest explanation is the easiest.

1) It's very clear that Dermott honestly believes Brock is his father. We have the reveal in 'Buddy System', and then we have the moment with the tape in 'Tears of a Sea Cow'. (When Hank mentions that tape they're listening to is one of Brock's, and Dermott sheepishly asks to borrow it.)

2) Dermott just happens to live right above the Venture Compound, and is just a few years (chronologically speaking) younger than Hank and Dean. Which means the timing matches up to when Brock was first in the area.

3) I find it a hell of a lot easier to believe that in his 20+ years of rampant, rampant, indiscriminate sex, Brock had an accident than his never-mentioned-save-for-once potential brother happened to father a douchebag kid in Arizona at the same time Brock was there. And also was apparently the kind of guy to love'em and leave'em.

(Also, as we used Google Maps and the map shown in 'O.R.B', and determined the Venture Compound isn't terribly far from our own town, I am halfway convinced that Dermott lives in The Dells. It looks just like the Dells when we finally see it!)



Clearly, I've put way too much thought into this. Then again, I've also put way too much thought into why I don't think I can ever write Hank and Dermott actually having buttsex, as Dermott would so eloquently put it.

New Venture Bros tonight! (Also Titan Maximum and Metalocalypse, but I have no big theory discussions to write on either of those. :D)

Dermott is most definitely Dermott's kid...I didn't even think this was debatable!

Do you seriously not live all that far away from where the compound would exist if it...actually existed?! That's beyond awesome! At least it is to me, because I'm a freak XD

(And pfft...I've ROLE PLAYED Hank and Dermott butt-sex before...there is just no saving me. XD)

THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IT! It makes perfect sense to me. The only reason Dermott's such a douche to Brock is because Dermott's a douche. He has no way to articulate 'I feel neglected and worthless and am desperate for my father's love and attention but don't know how to earn it'.

Yes. :D I live out in the middle of nowhere in Arizona. And my roommate and I recognized stuff on the google map Pete White used. So we...got a screencap and did some matching up.

Hahahaha, it's actually very boring. But allows us to be super dorky and say we live near the Ventures. :D

(Oooh, nice! I'll have to check those out. There is a sad lack of Hank/Dermott on the intertubes! Actually, I'm not so great at the writing of the buttsex. Which is why most of my stuff ends in frottage or something...)

YES! I was so happy to see him return in 'Perchance to Dean', and all his scenes were just awesome. Considering the whole 'Brock's illegitimate son' thing, he has to show up more. That's a major plotline they can do a lot with.

It's so sad. I have a Venture Idustries sign on my bedroom door.

Oh man, nijawial and I have so much in common. We actually met through our fandom acitvities, found out we lived in the same town area (we are so far out, half of the 'towns' are just unincoperated spats of land) and when the time came where we were both looking for new places... Oh yeah, we're definitely going to. We're big into the cosplay thing. I've only ever done video game and anime characters before now (except when I was Randall Flagg from The Stand for Halloween) but there are tons of AS cosplayers. We saw a Rusty Venture the other weekend at one!

OKAY! DAMN! Now my mind is freaking out because OPTIONS! Um...um...I THINK I NEED TO THINK! And art would be awesome! :D Any fic requests you've got in mind? :D

Dude, the Dog Day Afternoon reference last night. I almost fell off of my chair! And...isn't this technically the second time they've made a reference to this movie with Hank? I remember him yelling 'Attica! Attica!' in 'Perchance to Dean' when Rusty grounds home.
