Gotta Catch'em All
So
enigmablade and
summoneddestiny came over yesterday evening! We hung out for a bit, then rented some movies and gorged ourselves on delicious Taco Bell. Though the screwed up my order first, which resulted in free food!
We grabbed Hellsing Ultimate - which kicks a great deal of ass, if you ask me - and The Cat Returns. Watched the first episodes of Ultimate, ate, and then Andrea and Cody had to head out to meet some folks for a movie, and
nijawial and I watched The Cat Returns. Which we greatly, greatly enjoyed. Cody had said it was quite a good one, and neither of us had seen it, and we weren't disappointed in the least.
Now we're on a huge Ghibli kick. We're heading out to return last night's film, and grabbing a couple more.
Then it was nostalgia time, discussing old movies and books. This was prompted by looking up a list of films worked on by either Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli, which led to epic discussion of The Hobbit, Flight of Dragons, etc. Which moved on to books, via discussion of Peter Dickenson.
Then I was near incoherent with exhaustion, so I fixed some valerian tea and chugged it, stuck on Venture Bros, and fell asleep promptly afterwards. It was wonderful. I don't even know if the heater came on, I slept so nice and soundly.
I unfortunately left laundry out in the Devil Shed. And didn't get to that cleaning I was going to do.
There is...so very much to do.

Last Unicorn book definitely wins over films (though that's still AWESOME) but I have yet to get a hold of a copy of FoD....

Yeah, I have to agree. The book is just beautiful. FoD book is almost impossible to find. :/

I've never seen The Cat Returns. It sounds like I should.

It was...very classic Miyazaki. Whimsical, heartwarming, beautiful and a sort of modern day fairy tale.
