Took Nija home! Now, after a bite to eat, I need to redouble packing efforts! Due to general health stuff, I haven't been doing much lately, but now with a more official date and all looming.... Time to haul ass!

nijawial, what are you doing this weekend? My folks want to take us furniture shopping.

I'm still reeling from the house. We celebrated last night with more Venture Bros - Nija is almost done with season 1! We made it up to episode 11. And I finally saw the second half of 'Are You There God, It's Me Dean' and saw 'Ice Station Impossible' again, which I haven't seen since the very first time I ever saw a single episode of Venture Bros.

It's been so long since so many good things were happening in my life. And I find it so amusing, because over a year ago, I was up in Jerome, and had a Tarot reading done. It's a local guy, and he doesn't charge, but asks for donations for the local humane society. And he's a nice guy, so we sat out in the cold and drizzle and wind and had readings done. And I remember I asked about my social life, and he said that it looked like I'd have more luck finding local friends online than I would trying to get out and meet people. And lo and behold, not too much later, I met Nija through damned.

And now we're extremely close friends who have had so much fun together, and are getting a house together. That's the sort of serendipity that doesn't come along too often. It's a giant old internet, and a giant old world. And the odds of someone joining one LJ game, and playing a character who's canonically connected to another, and then finding out they live in the same area...it's astronomical. Especially when that area is the middle of nowhere.

Alright, I've gotten all sappy for long enough. ;) Time to start hauling more bags to the garage.

Yeah, definitely - in the other bit, about having to go beyond local, and get more involved with real life fandom - but the online thing was just....weird and not the kind of thing that usually happens. No one lives out here! And finding each other completely randomly on an online RPG....

We're definitely putting furniture and stuff in there, and have discussed a sleeper sofa. My mom saw a bunch on sale this weekend. It needs cleanings, though! Current tenants really have not been using the house to it's potential. But from what I could tell, they kind of hate the house. :/ It's too 'vintage'.

Well that's awesome! You guys can really fix it up then! Yeah it was coincidental that you and Nija met that way, since you live in the same area. I am glad we all got a chance to get to be good friends before I moved. Can't wait to come and visit though. I am going to talk to John about me coming out for PCC though. He won't be able to since its peak time at his work, but I should be. :D

We can! And we are. :D Nija's already planning out the yard, her mom's on the restoring, I'm thinking about how to clean... we're going all out with this place. It was so bizarre. And dude, so am I. That night in Vegas...that was awesome, man. I can't believe it's only been a year, it feels like so much longer! I HOPE YOU CAN! WE MISS YOU! We're not the Drunken Koalas without you!

Sofa sleepers are great... except they are hella-heavy. At least you won;t be moving it up any flights of stairs if you put it in the guest shed.^^

Oh, we wouldn't be moving it up stairs anyway. :D I can't do stairs at all, the house is only one floor. We'd probably get one like we have in my folks' guest room, which is a loveseat kind of deal, and not that heavy.
