Have You Been Shooting Dope Into Your Scrotum?
So it's been months, I know, and no one probably even realizes the thread is still going, but bang the gong and sound the trumpets because canonically, Scar is finally a man! ;) And can I say how amusing I find it that Scar and Lust had actual sex before Roy and Hughes? Shall we call that irony or dark humor?
The weather is atrocious, and I'm losing my internet on and off, so fair warning now if suddenly I stop responding.
And now, the mystery of the dirty whites.
Last week, I did a load of whites. My undershirts and boxers and sports bras, things of that nature. They weren't stained when they were loaded into the wash, and the only detergent used was my normal earth friendly organic detergent that I've used hundreds of times before.
And yet, when I pulled them forth from the dryer, they were covered in strange, smeared, black stains.
I sent them through again, but to no avail. And now I was quite perplexed. I inspected the washing machine. Nothing. The dryer. Nothing. My own hands and clothing were clean. I would have said it was hair color, but as I haven't gotten around to filling in my gray in about three months, that seemed ridiculously unlikely.
Yesterday night, fed up with my stained underthings, I finally plugged up my workroom sink, dumped in detergent and straight bleach, and left the things to soak. I hung them out to dry over night, and retrieved them this morning.
The bleach seems to have made some sort of difference. There is still obvious staining, but it's much lighter. I think another immersion of corrosive cleaning agents should do the trick.
I'm rather certain this is one of those stumbling points where I once again remember how terribly adult and boring my life has become. An entire LJ entry that focuses mostly on getting out stubborn stains?
Someone save me, quick! ;)
