When The Day Is Done - Plus Recipe

Orz.

It's very rare I ever use that emoticon, but it sums things up nicely. I am doing better than yesterday, however. I have the most awesome friends in the world. *hugs to all*

I'm getting more RAM for my computer. I just went to my folks and essentially said 'look, this is what I need, this is why I need it, this is how much it is and this is where we get it'. So I'm adding 2GB of RAM, and Watari gets a second lease on life. I also found a completely packed but untouched pipe under my sink, so my emergency stash has been replenished. And as all I wanted last night was a way to fix my computer and my happy no-pain meds....

I was planning on baking and soaking in a nice bath today, but it looks like I'm heading back over to my sister's to watch the kids.

Anyway, I was pouring over my recipes and here's one of my favorites for a delicious cracker and spread platter. It's great for holidays, parties, tea parties, whatever, and it's remarkably simple.

Raspberry Cheese Spread and Cracker Platter

INGREDIENTS

* 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
* 1 cup mayonnaise
* 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
* 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
* 1 cup chopped pecans
* 1/4 cup seedless raspberry jam
* Assorted crackers - I tend to use Toll House.

DIRECTIONS

1. In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and mayonnaise until blended. Beat in cheeses. Stir in pecans. Spread into a plastic wrap-lined 9-in. round dish. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.

2. Invert onto a serving plate; spread with jam. Serve with crackers.

Been catching up on RP. I always feel so badly when my characters are absolute jerks to other characters. I know it's IC, but I always feel badly. But hey, it makes for good plottage! And at least Valyn always apologizes after he's been a complete asshole.

SPEAKING OF RP!

So, some of you are familiar with CU, an IJ game I play at. Every so often there are these days where things go whacky. Coming up is Memory Theater Day, where characters will be broadcasting their strongest memories to other people. Maria and Henry are simple, but Dante....

What the hell would her strongest memories be? Any suggestions would be greatly, greatly appreciated from my FMA anime fan friends.

(Also, I love this day, because all three of my characters are fucked. Mostly Maria, though, as she's actively keeping secrets and her strong memories completely expose all of them. Seriously, the ending segment manages to lay everything she's been keeping a secret out in less than a minute. Oh, fun times!

I can't wait for memory day. I'm planning to post Youtube links for Eileen and Midvalley, plus writing about other memories they might have. And then I'm going to write some sentimental stuff about Judith, and James being born, for Frank. *sniffle*

I'm not sure how long I'll be online, because my daughter will be over. But when Frank sees Maria's memories, that's going to be interesting. And I imagine the reactions will take a while.

I'm not much help with Dante... sorry about that. I would think the first time she changed bodies would be a strong memory though.

Me neither! I wrote out the confrontation scene between Maria and James, because I couldn't find a good Youtube link that didn't have people talking over it or something like that. I'm kind of amused that it essentially goes 'bad James you killed your wife, love me, DIE!'. Aw, poor Frank! *hugs him*

Yeah, I'm mostly going 'oh geeze, poor Frank...'. Maria really didn't want him to know about what James did. Or...what she did to James.

Henry's mostly going to be just a little uncomfortable that other people are privy to these things, since he's so private. And most of it's coming from Walter World, and he'll just be uncomfortable and awkward.

The ones I'd been hovering around were: when she transfers Hohenheim the first time, and discovers the whole soul switching affair, and when she sends Hoho through the Gate. I was toying with her own first switch, but I'm kind of on the fence on if that's a particularly strong memory, since when it comes to her own past, she seems very...detached.

Yeah, Frank might hit the alcohol. He's not the type to drink away his problems usually, but this is pretty extreme.

Eileen isn't going to mind too much, though I think I am going to include her kiss with Henry as a recent strong memory, unless you don't like that idea.

I would say you're on the right track with your memories. I see your point about her detachment.

I don't blame him at all in that scenario - especially since just seeing that memory, there's absolutely no context for what James did. It's just Maria being snide and taunting, and James...not denying it. :/

Aw, I think that's cute! And Henry would be all tickled pink and a little embarrassed. But in the good way!

Oh, Dante. So much history, and yet so little of it that she even seems to care about.

I have my theories on Dante, but if you want a real expert, hit up melarayuhi. She's been playing her somewhere close to two and a half years now, and if you leave her a comment and let her know how to contact her, she'll gladly exchange takes (and probably meta at you for years in the process ~_^)

As for strongest memories, I would third "the first time she switched bodies," as well as second "the birth of her "son"". I'd also add his death in the first place.

Oh, I've got plenty of theories and files and files of backstory myself. :D I'm totally solid on all of that. I just kind of spazzed over memories, because there's so many and so much history to pull from that it was a little overwhelming! :D
