Saturday dawned bright and early. Brighter and earlier for

A good long time was spent getting ready. Hair, make-up, last minute costume repairs... ten minutes before we headed out, I was gluing red ribbon onto Lenna to cover a little boo-boo I made with the fabric glue. But all was well, and we looked good. Lenna especially. We snapped a couple of pictures in the hotel room, and then it was time to venture out.
The Sonny Strait panel was at eleven, and it was around 9:45 or so when we left the hotel room. We went to the main hotel area, and that was when it first happened. People stopped us and asked to take pictures. As soon as those were taken, a male con-goer asked for a picture of just Lenna. Which really wasn't surprising. ;) We hit the dealer's room and snagged some more mystery bust boxes, still in search of the Roy and Riza bust for Lenna.
After that, we decided to start n our search for Panel Room One. We were heading to the stairs down to the lower level of the hotel when we heard above us what can only be described as a squee, followed by 'Oh my god! Are you Sloth?!?" We turned to see a rather excited looking Hawkeye waving frantically at us. Lenna replied that yes, she was indeed Sloth. This was greeted with 'Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!' and various sounds of hyperventilating. It was a verbal glomp, as Lenna put it. We were hauled up for more pictures, and asked to sign a small notebook for a scrapbook.
Afterwards, we resumed our search for Panel Room One. Nothing was labeled, so we had to try and guess. We asked a staff member, and were pointed to a small room where a discussion on general anime was going on. That was not Panel Room One. We exited, and made a half-hearted circle around the panel rooms. An older woman with two teenagers asked us where Panel Room One was, and we informed her that we had no clue. She went on a quest to find someone who could help. While we were waiting, milling around much like cows in a pasture, another guy came up and asked where Panel Room One was.
At this point, Older Woman came back and said she had been directed upstairs. We took off in a herd, and followed her as she asked every staff member she found, only to be directed to another staff member. Finally, the information desk pointed us in the right direction. On our way, we were stopped by a girl who informed us that her friends were doing an FMA photoshoot after the panel, and we should totally join up. We nodded politely and took our seats. Clearly, everyone had trouble finding the panel room, as hardly anyone was there.
The panel started pretty quickly, and we were delighted to discover that Colleen Clinkenbeard had joined in! She didn't have a panel of her own, so she just joined Sonny's. They were awesome. So, so awesome. Sonny did various voices from his various characters, they cracked jokes the whole time, and they shared a few fun stories about recording. Apparently, Laura Bailey is a very enthusiastic voice actor who throws herself into roles. And throws punches and kicks while recording fight scenes, which isn't abnormal. But she's also apparently very clumsy, and often falls of her stool, knocks over the microphone, and generally just destroys the booth. They informed us all that the FMA movie was not only being dubbed, but has already been recorded. And apparently Mike McFarland is working on some more FMA related projects, but they couldn't say what exactly.
They were just such funny, funny, awesome people. Both totally relaxed and just talking with the folks at the panel. And Colleen is very, very attractive. The panel was wrapping up, and right before the end, the best Hughes cosplayer I have ever seen leapt up to present Sonny with a photo of Elysia, and proudly announce that his daughter had just turned three that year. Sonny was amused and held up the picture for everyone to see, and many photos were snapped. Then it was autograph time, but there was another panel that needed the room, so we decided not to wait and to catch them later after their other panel. We slipped out and headed up to the patio once more (yes, we spent a lot of time on the patio) and we were chatting and discussing the panel when a Lust cosplayer accompanied by an amazing Roy cosplayer we'd seen at the panel approached us and announced that they'd been looking for us and asked what we were doing in five minutes. The awesome and amazing Hughes cosplayer who had given Sonny the picture wandered over to join us, and we were invited to join their photoshoot.
We said yes, having no idea the whirlwind of fun and photos we were about to get ourselves into!
