Lolita

Since I've been getting more and more into Lolita, and more and more people have expressed interest and curiosity in and about it, I decided to post some invaluable links for information and getting started. Lolita is a fashion with a lot of rules and a lot of don'ts that can be a little bit hard to grasp in the beginning. I was lucky in having friends who were far more knowledgeable than I in the beginning (I'm looking at you, chocomimi!) and got me started on the right track.

The number one link I can offer is lolita_handbook . It's an easy to follow, comprehensive breakdown of the terms, styles, articles of clothing, etc. It has almost everything, with plenty of examples. Seriously, if you want to get into Lolita, you need this website. Bookmark it, read it, memorize it, love it.

daily_lolita is a community for posting outfits and coordinates. From their info page 'This community was created for the sole purpose of posting your lolita and casual lolita outfits of the day.' Just by looking through the community posts and reading the comments, you can learn a lot.

egl is the main community for the fashion, and I recommend lurking for a bit before posting. And reading everything in the FAQ and rules. It gets a lot of posts, and is full of helpful information, suggestions and discussion. (And of course the usual amount of OT posts and tomfoolery, but you get that on any massive community.)

These are the three communities/sites that have aided me greatly. And I hope they help any of you who are interested in getting into this amazing fashion.

(And anna_daae? I blame you for the fact that the only thing I've watched for two days is America's Next Top Model. Such addictive, mind-rotting crap....)
