We Can't Escape, That's a Natural Fact...

husband_brother was able to slip away from work for a short bit to come visit! We only had about an hour, but it was so good to see her. We looked at listings, and we've got a house we want to look at. :D It's a cute little place with an old fashioned claw foot bathtub and allows pets and smoking on the property. And the other big thing....

She came out to her mother. That's been one of those things that's been put off for good reason, but since we're moving in together, it's not like it could be avoided. We really weren't sure how she was going to take it - she's said some unpleasant things about GLBT folks, but she says a lot of things. And I, at least, have been certain she knows ever since one day where she just gave me this long, appraising look and out of the blue asked me how old I was. There was just something in the way she was looking at me and the tone of her voice that said 'I know you're sleeping with my firstborn'.

All her mother said, upon being informed that we're life partners, was 'oh, that's nice. I figured as much.'

So that's the final hurdle, crossed quite easily. And she has next weekend off! Then she won't be able to get away for a while, but that's alright.

I spent the last few days mostly sick in bed, save for when I went out for my mother's birthday dinner. But I was able to manage my monthlies relatively alright with various herbal teas. I was in pain, and I felt like crap, but I didn't get sick. I was able to keep food down, and I didn't have any fever hallucinations.

I am, however, exhausted and have been very muzzy headed thanks to a lot of kava. Oh! And I'm almost done with A Clash of Kings! Then it's on to A Storm of Swords! I will get caught up on this series, considering I started it about ten years ago.

ETA: Never mind. I'm done with the series after all.
