Disturbing Mirror Message From Beyond

I apologize for the spam, but this needed it's own entry.

There is another entry in the saga of the Damn Dirty Hippies. One of us finally took a shower in the morning. We've been doing it at night, and it's dark because the lights are...well....what they are. So it took us until now to see this....

A message in the steam, left for us - we assume - by the Damn Dirty Hippies. We hope. It's on the mirror, clear as day, and if my camera hadn't gotten damaged in the move I'd photograph it. Nija called me in to see it, looking pale, and I confess I shivered a bit too when I saw it.

The message says only 'I'm sorry for you'.

A bit disturbing, eh? Good thing we did call this place Silent Hill. But now we're trying to determine what this message means. Since...well...it could be a variety of things.

What do you think the disturbing mirror message from beyond is trying to tell us?

It's possible it wasn't left for you at all, but was something left around from before the last owners moved out. Something someone they knew left them... any manner of things.

The Hippies were, in fact, poltergeists. Messy ones. Who didn't like meat eaters. Or the house.

After what I've heard of the previous owners, I'm either going for "they didn't wipe off their mirror for two years" or "we're preachy neopagan uber-vegans who left propaganda stickers in our small daughter's bedroom and treat anyone who doesn't share our beliefs with disdain or hostility." I went with option two because it was more fun to write. :D

I would die of fright before I lived in that house... And to think I was freaked out because my bedroom in my old house had a secret door that led to the master bedroom's closet (and it's not a walk-in closet) -- though it was locked and we could never get it open. o___o

Plus my old bathroom was ridiuclously designed so you could watch yourself in the mirror while you took a shower, but not while you brushed your teeth. You could also watch yourself take a shit thanks to the mirror on the bathroom door.

Maybe it's a leftover from some kind of domestic drama. Maybe that's Damn Dirty Hippy for "I'm dumping your ass, you loser!"

Are you sure that all they smoked was pot? Perhaps this place is more sinister. Could all the stains and films and resins on the walls be from a Meth lab? People can use tin foil or a clear glass pipe to smoke meth. Though I think meth users would be more carefull about not losing any and wouldn't leave a bong behind. (Some even recapture the drug from their own pee.)

If the place smelled like a cat box, I would consider the possibiltiy. If it was it would be a danger to you.

The meat in the fridge sounds very sinister. Do they eat roadkill?

Also going for the "poorly thought out 'hey, we're leaving a shitpile, we should like, apologize, or something' message probably left while under the influence of drugs" option. "Dude, if we write it on the mirror, they'll be like, cleaning in there, and then they'll know, like, we're sorry." "Whoa, yeah, it'll blow their minds."

If it were ghosts, I'd want something more dramatic. Or else something like "God, thank goodness those idiots are gone, hi new roomies! :D"

I moved into a new place the beginning of the summer, and had similar problems, not quite as bad, by any means. But I can understand the intense amount of cleaning to be done and such.

Holy....I am reading these posts with increasing squick and horror, and I am beginning to believe that you might be better off just burning the place to the ground, taking the insurance money, and starting again.

Nevermind. Lord knows what kind of fumes you would unleash. Still, I have to ask, are you taking pictures in case you come up against something that actually does require you to take them to small claims court/prove things to the homeowner's insurance/call the police?
