We Are Men Of....Hope!
Last night's Venture Bros: best episode ever, or best episode ever?
Holy crap, that was awesome. I know a lot of people are getting tired of 'backstory' episodes, but this is exactly the stuff I love. (The animation also seemed to be particularly good last night - crisper and brighter.
Unfortunately, my dog decided that right in the middle would be the best time to wake up and need to go outside, and cause a ruckus in the yard making me go outside to see what she'd gotten into. So I think I may have missed something important....
Alright, so Sandow killed Colonel Venture because he was going to activate the orb. Brock's orders were to kill Rusty if he tried to activate the orb. And it was implied between Brock and Kano that Kano killed Jonas for the very same reason - his vow of silence, his admission to killing a 'great man', his avoidance of the question when Brock outright asks him, added to the complete mystery surrounding Jonas' death. But....
Jonas hid the orb and left Rusty the clues to find it. Now he had to have made the clues after he hid it - or even before, it doesn't matter. The point is, if Jonas hid the orb away for Rusty, then wouldn't that imply he had no intention to use it? Besides which, Kano greets Brock with 'I knew this day would come, I didn't think they'd send you', and alludes to not following O.S.I orders. O.S.I orders would have said to kill Jonas, same as they told Brock to kill Rusty. So if Kano had killed Jonas, why would O.S.I be after him?
So did I miss something, or was that left vague on purpose, in classic Venture Bros fashion?
Alright, I had a theory as I was hauling boxes. Kano says he 'deprived the world of a great man', he doesn't say killed. This could imply that he disregarded the 'kill Jonas Venture' orders, and hid him away for safety. Yes, I know it's a bit out there, but honestly...it's The Venture Bros. It's not out of the realm of possibility. It would also explain why Kano believes O.S.I is after him/will send someone after him. Disobey orders, you get offed.
I really need more LJ friends who are hardcore into this show.

Anyway, many apologies to people who were trying to get a hold of me last night! Sunday nights I kind of fall off the face of the internet and my computer gets turned off sometime between 9 and 10.
And now I need to haul ass and start moving boxes to the garage, to make more room in my room. I also got a little of my workroom packed.
